Courts make a determination based on answers to questions such as:
Are leaders of the WTS and or their appointed represents in the organization of the same name or organization under control in turn of the WTS leaders:
1) able to discipline the elders?
2) able to set policies for the elders?
3) in control in whole or part of the facilities and supplies used by the elders?
Obviously they are in control of the elders though exercising it via the front corporation the so-called Christian Congregation of JWs. Their seeking to use it as a legal subterfuge to hide and protect their assets is transparent to the judiciary, and their assessed responsibilities therefore shall be all the heavier in instances of impending litigation.

CO talk
by Fatal Error inwe had our second co talk yesterday, the topic of which was loyalty, thinly veiled as to one another, but dripping with threats toward those who might go against the society.. after the usual drivel about the society being god's organisation, and appreciating their junk food (as an aside, has anyone actually vomitted up any of this "food"??
just wondering...), i was rudely dragged out of my slumber by the co's harsh declaration that we should shun all those who slipped away from the thruth, as they inactivity is a bad influence.
he went on to heap the blame on them, "if they feel this way, then they should expect their due", "they bring shunning onto themselves" etc.... has it always been this way?
-

Yes, the WTS is even now passing along by word of mouth a tougher view of those who are inactive. What they have in writing sounds better, and their view of inactives was nicer in the past. But now, given fear of lawsuits over their hiding child molestation etc, they have stiffened their stance.

"Amazing" is a good writer from whom words flow naturally like cool water on a scorching summer's day. I add to those who say thanks to Amazing for sharing his story, and also to Randy Watters for making it so readily accessible.

Wonder how the literature placements and hours contrast to those of a year ago? My guess is about the same though the irregularness is greater. Your thoughts?

Since 1998 there has existed an alternative to the Watchtower Society with the good beliefs but minus the dangerous ones. Go to:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jahchristian/
"We champion Christian Freedom (Ro 14:1-5), help free and befriend survivors of abusive cults including the Watchtower Society. We also give spiritual friendship to those who want it. We enjoy unity by LOVE (Col 3:14) instead of forced uniform beliefs although many believe resurrection will be on Earth for some and to heaven for others, the DEAD ARE UNCONSCIOUS till resurrected. Founded 1998. To get the free newsletter, the Free Christians News, tell jahchristian@ yahoo.com "

Update on Mom .....CO's visit
by Mulan inthe new local circuit overseer, and presiding overseer visited mom last friday, at our home, where she is living now.
i was gone, taking my dad to his doctor appointment.. they were here for over two hours, and she said the co was wonderful to her about her living here.
the only thing said about us, was what a wonderful thing we are doing, by caring for our elderly as we are.

HELP! NEED INPUT/EXPERIENCES
by stevieb1 ini have come to the conclusion that so many of the society's doctrines are not scriptural (both major and minor ones) that i can no longer cal it "the truth".
i still go to congregation meetings, but i can't see myself going for much longer - a bit of a crisis of conscience.
however, there seems to be one piece of seemingly logical advice from the elders that i cannot come to terms with despite what i have found.. even amongst the elders that have spoken to me there seems to be some who do not accept the entire body of doctrines of the society, yet because they see the fruitage of matthew 7:17, 20 being expressed within the congregation and not elsewhere they stay and advise me to stay too.

Love: is it loving for them to go by the pedophile coverup policy etc?
Unity: Colossians says LOVE is the greatest bond of union; unity is not the same as uniformity; they have a forced uniformity, not unity via love
Preaching Fulfillment: Christianity at large has indeed fulfilled the great commission; name a land with no Christians at all, or even a continent? The WTS is also not the one true faith that Paul said exists for when it said it exists the WTS did not exist; but Christianity did; yes there's good, bad and mostly mediocre Christians but the true faith is Christianity in general

Yesterday's public talk.
by VioletAnai ini'd like to make a few points which i know i will be eaten alive for, but here goes...... is there really a devil?.
history of religion has always believed in the devil, but has portrayed him in different lights....he himself transforms into an angel of light, making something that is evil seem innocent and fun.
his best ploy: having people believe he don't exist...this is to his own advantage.. he is a malignant enemy of god and man!

SATAN, WHO OR WHAT IS THE DEVIL? Matthew 4 and Luke 4 both report that Christ spoke to and told Satan to go stop trying to tempt him and go away. Job 1:6-12 and 2:1-7 quote God's conversations with Satan. Therefore Satan the devil is not just a bad feeling but a spirit being. As such he can take any appearance that he may care to manifest, whether very alluring as an angel of light or very ugly and demonic as depicted by the writer Dante. In the Bible the words Satan, Devil and Tempter appear over 80 times, spanning both New and Old Testaments. When people do something wrong then try to blame having done it on Satan, that is normally untrue for the Bible also explains that we ourselves reap what we ourselves sew. However he does indeed rule the world which scripture says to not be friends of, namely the world of crime, violence, corruption, green and injustice. (1Jn 5:19; Jn 14:30, Ep 2:2, 2Co 4:4, 1Co 10:20)
Although Romans 13:1 reassures us that we are normally right to honor governments with our obediance, Daniel 10:13-20 says that even back into very ancient times Satan's fellow demons or princes have also sometimes influenced evil human governments, no doubt comparable to dictatorships such as those of the more modern Nazis and Communist China. Happily though Revelation 20:1-3 and 21:8 explain that God will at some point end his activities, hurling him into a symbolic if not literal lake of fire which means "the second death" or non-existence, and meanwhile the Kingdom of God, our heavenly Father, continues to grow and advance, defending us provided we stay close to Him and like Christ reject temptations to do bad things.
