as an it business consultant, i always use michael porter's competetive forces model to assess whether a firm's e-business strategy will give them a competitive advantage against competitor's.. the competitive forces model identifies five forces in the industry that a firm needs to contend with to become successful.

these forces are the:.

1) bargaining power of customers.

Assuming the WTS is a business and the product is the JW association and teachings. Why will apostates fail to compete with the WTS? Let us examine them one by one.

How about a wealthy real estate investment corporation and book publishing company which dupes its members into working for them free of charge using high control manipultating methods such as threats?

Examples:

If you don't obey the WT Org you will lose your friends and family and your life. If you remain in the WT Org and you are not successful in recruiting your family members and old friends the God you worship will kill them dead and kill you too if you have any feelings for them. This I was told continously during the 20 plus year of my duration in the Org., though I didn't recognize that this is what was really being said until it was spelled out clearly for me by the elders in my congo, a creepy circuit overseer and untimantly the society who defended the whole lot of them.

Your analysis felt cold hearted to me and much like the Organization of the WT bible and tract corporation. The love they preach is conditonal and based on your performance for the Org. If you can no longer perform you are tossed out with the trash. This is not the kind of love Jesus preached about, but this was the type of behavior he condemned the Pharasees for.

Thanks again blondie. I now look forward to your weekly reviews. Once you start reading between the lines of the WT it becomes "oh so obvious" the message they are trying to convey. Seems like the Org is in major defense mode these days so keep on producing these mind warping/numbing articles to continue to guide the minds of the flock.

The abbreviated WT guiding message of this week is:

1. Keep on working for the Org no matter what

2. Give lots more money to the Org

3. Don't question the Org even if you know they are wrong.

why is everyone so afraid?

i am new to this forum, and so far all i read is how we all hide from the wittnesses we now, or don't answer the phone, or walk the other way when they walk down the street.

to tell you a little about myself, i grew up a j.w, i was married when i was 21. my first wife was abused by a brother in her hall for years.

we were married for about a year , when one day i got a phone call from a man at the watchtower and track society.

Sorry about the sad part of your story though. but you made me think in a different direction. I am still a bit afraid now that I am on the fade, but you are correct it is the witnesses that are more afraid of me now and some are viewing me as dangerous--sweet little old innocent me who wouldn't harm a fly. If they are afraid of me they are really in bad shape and I feel some pity for them, but only just a little right now as I am still really PISSED OFF (as I have mentioned in my last few posts)...Thanks though, I feel a little braver now...

I wondered why I was not at ease being a Witness.

i wondered why i was not at ease being a witness till i learned what a cult is from many sorces, and stopped being so scared from day to day what god will do to me.

i am still scared of what he will do to me from being raised a witness, its weird they did not teach a firey hell, but they put the same kind of fear in me.

everytime some national problem comes along i freek, even when i no longer go to them meetings or read the tower.

the fear thing gets better Shane. the whole processing thing all seems to go through stages...I am at the PISSED OFF AT THE ORG stage right now, but hoping I can get a hold of that one too and gear it in a more positive direction. give yourself time--get some help--stick around--people care.

one famous wts myth that i have heard uttered more times a minimus question is that ?women feel while men think?, did you ever wonder where the wts dug that thought up from?

apparently from an unamed woman psychologist and the famous department of ?many authorities?

Prince has recorded "Kingdom Melody" No 15

apparently he couldnt sleep, so one night he popped into his studio and recorded km number 15, with drums, bass, piano and jazz guitar.

i've heard that its been copied and handed around a select few (according to jw's on a prince website).

i wonder if he's gonna get punished for this.

After only about 3 weeks of seeking out and reading "apostate" literature, I was publicly reproved at a Thursday night meeting for showing someone the UN's website where the WT was listed as an NGO.

Badwillie. How strange you could get reproved for just showing someone The UN site --it is not an apostate website afterall. I am on the FADE but it is starting to get to me a bit.

Maybe I need some advice from the apostate council here...I am still in touch with some JWs and one sis in there. They know I have been "stumbled and discouraged" but they don't know that I am now a total unbeliever in their beloved Org. When they try to "encourage" me I feel really upset and feel like telling them off....I almost killed myself because of what I experienced in there and it makes me really angry when people assume that I have just been "stumbled" by some well meaning, but imperfect elders- and that it is just my thinking on things and I should just study more and get back to the JW program and all would be well AAAAHHHHHH. I think I am entering a whole new stage of exiting. I AM PISSED OFF!!! (sorry, had to tell someone)

Actually, the answer involved one of the most important teachings in the Bible. It is at the very core of the Christian message, though many churches choose to ignore it.

Yes, Dawn....I also agree that this is a strange statement...I thought the most important focus in Christianity was LOVE, forgiveness, kindness, etc. etc... Blood is not a value or attribute anymore than a liver or kidney...Taking it to the absurd saying that blood is one of the most important aspects of the whole Christian doctrine is like saying one of the most important things in Christianity is your bodily organs that sustain your life. The Org is losing it bad now. The old guys at the top are getting senile for sure.

it was related to me this morning the society has instituted either a new or unofficial policy that congregations with attendance (not publisher) averages of less than 70 will be merged into the nearest congregation.

i know of one elder who will inflate his cong.

average to keep his "spot.

I was just thinking about this recently as the old congo I was in seems to be hanging by threads--no new ones coming in--lots of publishers leaving town--very low on donations. Maybe this would be a good way for the society to start cashing out on some of their properties. Even as a strong JW I would be very depressed to drive 50 miles to a meeting and probably would have missed a lot of meetings if I had to. Will be interesting to see what happens.
