I hope I don't offend anyone here, but old Charles Taze was a nutcase! Why are people still tying to make sense of his hysterical ramblings?

PASSION of the Christ
by myownsaviorthankyoumuch inwondering if anyone has seen it yet, and what the general consensus was around here.
i saw it a week ago this coming monday, overall i liked it, and didnt really see what the controvesy was, thought that the aramaic w/ english subtitles was a nice touch, cinematography was great, watching mary's griefmoved me a whole lot more than watching jesus get tortured, satan rocked visually, i especially enjoyed the fact that he was portrayed by a female, [that was not a comment to instigate the femenists on the board] though he had one too many hollywood moments, i really like the fact that jesus actually came across as arrogant, not the weakling he is always portrayed as during the easter season, he actually had some nads, and had something to say, that was cool, made him a lot more real in my eyes, after walking out of the theater though, i could only keep thinking to myself this was such a tragedy in the likes of homer, a hero bound for disaster, a legend told through the centuries, much like king arthur became a legend based on the events of a real man, im thinking the same must have happened with him, 80 flogs with bamboo into it i was thinking endorphines and adrenaline, yet it kept going into a second round, how he was able to walk after that and carry a cross, seemed a bit ludicrous, comments??

I saw the movie for the first time today and something about it really made me mad. It wasn't anything on the screen. It was what the people in the audience were doing. Let me just say this, I'm not christian. I really like Jesus. What I don't like, however, is most christians. This movie is just one reason why. There's a part in the movie when Jesus is brutally tortured for about the last hour of the movie. Well I look around the theater at the good christians in the audience and what are they doing when Jesus is getting flogged, beaten, whipped, crucified? They're eating junior mints, m&ms, popcorn and sipping their coca cola and ice cream smoothies. It made me furious. I could understand if it was just a few people, but it was almost everybody.
I don't know if anybody else was in a situation like this or was bothered by it. But I was.
Sorry to be redundant, but I think Jesus was a pretty great guy and to just sit there and eat twizlers while he's being tortured is awfully f@#$ed up.

Bush Ads & 9-11
by ThiChi inpassing this on, i agree 100%:
can you imagine abraham lincoln running without mentioning his leadership during the civil war?
can you imagine fdr running without mentioning his accomplishments during world war ii?

Bush keeps me in a constant state of "shock and awe" with his insensitivity, stupidity and ruthless ambition.
As for Bush and his "strong leadership" on Sept. 11, as I recall it Bush was hiding in a bunker that day. Our true leaders that day where Dick Cheney -- who stayed in the White House even though he knew there was a jet headed straight for it; Rudi Giuliani -- who personally took charge at ground zero and the countless firefighters and NYPD who risked and lost their lives to save others, while Bush was hiding in his Presidential bunker, like the coward he is.
George Bush makes me sick and he continues to sink to new levels of breath-taking stupidity. For him to try to take political advantage of Sept. 11 is truly reprehensible. And I only hope Americans have the good sense to not give him a second term as president.

Do you want to pay to send a e-mail?
by kls inthat is the idea of bill gates, to pay for spam, anyone sending an e-mail will have to pay.
it would probably be only a cent or two ( ya right) but many companies and internet services are saying no to this idea.
would you pay to send a e-mail ?

Umm...let me think about that, NO!!!
There are better ways of stopping spam like aggressively shutting down the domains that send out the spam and creating permanent list of people banned from owning domains for reasons of spamming.
It also might not hurt to have a few high profile arrest made for spamming. People might think twice if they knew they might be spending 10 years in a federal pen getting bent over by Bubba every night, lol.

Jesus had the hots for Mary Magdalene:
Luke 7.36?50 He likes it when she gives him a foot massage.
Mat. 27.56,61; 28; Mark 15.47; 16; Luke 8.2; 24; John 19.25; 20 She's one of only three people who stay with him while he dieds. She is, I believe one of the first people Jesus appears to after his ressurection and also she's the first person who finds the tomb of Jesus empty.
Now if Jesus was god in the flesh, then it's only natural that he'd have natural male urges. I'm not saying he acted on them. But, I bet he had a special affection for the girl.

What if????????? Why I don't believe in Jehovah!!!!!!
by frankiespeakin inin the future our speices and many others speice of our earth and of our universe or a infinite number of universes would evolve to travel in time, not with the body but with the mind at will just for pure delight, what would happen to such a species?????
would they cease to exist?????
or would they go on growing inwardly for all enternity in an instant of time??????

I think it's pretty simple frankiespeakin; man wasn't made in god's image. God was made in man's image.
Just look at the beginning of the Decalogue:
I am the Lord your God , who have brought you out of Eygpt out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for you any engraved image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; You shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
You know what that sounds like to me? A scared, insecure, jealous guy, trying to pressure someone into loving him and then threatening to hurt the other person if they don't do what he wants ? that?s supposed to be from god?
And that's the first freaking commandment! You're telling me that came from the god of love? Yeah right, that came from some human trying to control others.

LEAST FAVORITE MEETING
by new light init's so hard to choose, but i would have to say the theocratic ministry school was my most hated meeting.
the first few talks were a rephrasing of mind-numbing society doctrine.
then it was time to listen to a ten-year old read nwt to us........... #3 talks, don't even get me started!

I dreaded all the meetings where we felt compelled to comment: the book study, the TMS, the Watchtower Study. I remember feeling like I had to comment at least once per meeting or I wouldn't be considered in good standing. It didn't really matter to me what I commented on or how completely I understood it -- just so I got it over with.
But I guess If I had to pick the very worst, it was the book study. My bookstudy was half way across town from where I lived, even though there were two closer to me. And I despised the elder who conducted it. He'd always make me read whatever book we were studying. And getting answers from the flock was just awful, like pulling teeth.
I remember several occasions when that particular elder flipped out on the members in attendance for not having prepared answers and I'd just be sitting up there on the stage next to him, hoping it'd be over soon.
