see if you can find "Jump Tomorrow" on DVD.........absolute fun, and the catchiest damn soundtrack I have heard in a long time.
no big hollywood blockbusters, no explosion fests, just good films with a decent cast and a decent script.
definitely nothing with keanu reeves and preferably something that will touch the audience rather than just wash over them.
timeframe immaterial but quality is important.

i cheated on my wife and i told her what happend and she forgave me......but she told my sister #1(baptized but doesn't go to meetings) what happend.
then sister #1 proceeded to tell sister #2 (die hard witness).
now sis #2 is giving me till wed to turn myself in or she is going to do it.
I guess I am confused on this one!! Why even one second's hesitation?!
As a man, I would recommend an installment apology plan with your wife that may take you until retirement, and a heathy, hearty "see-ya" to the J-Dubs!!!!
Sometimes life isn't so complicated..............
Good luck!
steven wright, very low key, monotone delivery, but one of my favs.
his mind sees things differently than we do - for example:.
i woke up one morning and all of my stuff had been stolen...and replaced by exact duplicates.
Steven Wright rules!!! Recently, we got a new radio station here in the Kansas City area that is ALL comedy..........I am not sure if you have gotten "All Comedy Radio" in the Seattle area yet, but they feature Steven Wright fairly prominently - The problem with ElStevo, he does not tour that often....dagumit!!!!
Anyway........he is THE MOST original comic out there, IMHO....and his genius stands up in written form, as your chosen quotes prove.
it wasn't a pet we actually wanted but now that we have the iguana, we actually like it.. how we came to own zilla (short for godzilla): i was having a yard sale last weekend and my mom brought some stuff over to sell.
well she and my sister worked the yard sale while i went for my dentist appointment saturday.
while i was at the dentist someone stopped by and dropped off this iguana--he told my mother that we could sell it in our yard sale or keep it as a pet because he has a baby that was born premature coming home from the hospital, and they can't keep the iguana anymore, please, please take it.
isn't that a little personal?!?!
if your jw family upset you, or if you're having "one of those days" (or weeks, or months .
is there anything that you actively do to counter the negative feelings?.
i usually try to go into "look after myself" mode and spend some time alone just relaxing or having a good cry .
Play the piano until I have no feelings in my fingers and/or listen to Cindi Lauper CD's at dangerously loud levels ("who amongst you can resist the charm of 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' ?!") - - - - And if that doesn't work, I go to the gym and work myself until I collapse
did it seem strange to you, almost surreal?
it's happened to me several times.
about 2 years after i was df'd, hl and i were newly weds heading for a weekend in london.
I did,......with a girlfriend - Sat in the back, shook my head almost constantly, and uttered the phrase "What the......" 6 or 7 dozen times
i thought about this topic last night for the board when watching one of my favorite movies.. 1. the man from snowy river- the part when they are going after the expensive colt and they get to the edge of the cliff and all the other riders stop and "jim" keeps going and leaps down the cliff after the wild horses.
i absolutely love that part of the movie...everytime its on i have to watch it, if not just to see this part only.. 2. love and basketball- when she tells him she will play for his heart...awwww first time i started crying.
and then the music they had playing in the background made it even worse.
That scene from Cinema Paradiso is AMAZING!!,....and I love Casablanca for a lot of reasons, but that scene, that line is near the top - - - - The scene of recociliation in "Wings of Desire" where the fallen angel finally meets his muse in the flesh (I believe they are in a club/bar in Berlin) That depth of dialog in a movie is rare, and the whole development of the scene reminds you that genuine love can can change heaven and earth.
thoughts?
opinions?
experiences?
Dan, for what it's worth.......the U-squarded congregation here in Kansas City is a truly great place to go, for a lot of reasons - I found the people to be genuinely open and warm to new visitors, and there was a REAL atmosphere of theological discussion after the service with the people that "lingered", you know, not just the niceties that you get so often at suburban churches. Nice coffee in the lower level reception area, too - - - Anyway, good luck to you!!!!
....or even, "what's the stupidest organizational rule that you know of"?
You could not "handle the mikes" if you had facial hair of any kind, especially side burns - and there seemed to be a constant monitoring of the length of hair as well.
dead at 56?!?!
what good is a life of abstinence, purity, restraint, and self discipline if you end up dying at such a young age???
?
the oft-used "natural causes" LOS ANGELES - Funk singer Rick James, best known for the 1981 hit "Super Freak," died Friday, apparently of natural causes, police said. James, 56, died at 9:45 a.m. at a residence near Universal City, said Officer Esther Reyes, a Police Department spokeswoman. "He died apparently of natural causes. We learned of his death after responding to a radio call," Reyes said. After his big hit, James' fame began to fade as he became embroiled in legal problems and health troubles. James was convicted in 1993 of assaulting two women. The first attack occurred in 1991 when he restrained and burned a young woman with a hot pipe during a cocaine binge at his house in West Hollywood. He was free on bail when the second assault occurred in 1992 in James' hotel room. James was sentenced to more than two years in state prison. In 1997, he released a new album, but a year later he suffered a stroke while performing at Denver's Mammoth Events Center, derailing a comeback tour. In 1998 he also underwent hip replacement surgery.
