calgary/am770chqr - the father of a calgary jehovah's witnesses teen who died after refusing blood transfusions has won a partial victory in the alberta court of appeal.. the province's highest court has ruled that lawrence hughes should not have been removed as an administrator of his late daughter's estate.. the court has also restored his lawsuit on behalf of the estate alleging the watchtower society and its lawyers used mis-representation and deceit to convince his 16-year-old daughter bethany chemotherapy and blood transfusions would not help cure her cancer and were experimental.. however, the appeal court upheld the trial judges dismisal of hughes' other claims including conflict of interest, undue influence and conspiracy.

Doing Good Humane things for Other People- Why Jw's Won't Notice It
by flipper inone thing that always bothered me when i was a witness, was that the main thing you were admired for was how much time you got in the service each month, how many times you commented at meetings, whether you hung out with " spiritual " people, and your approval was based on how you were advancing in the faith based on your position, regular or auxilarry pioneer, ministerial servant or elder.
if you weren't any of those things, even if you did good to or for others, it was not noticed.
if joe publisher sitting in the corner went and mowed sister old ladies yard in 100 degree heat out of love it was not emphasized, because it didn't really fit in with the agenda the elders or governing body deems important as being for the advancement of kingdom interests.

4 years ago, when my jw daughter was speaking to me, I gave a kidney to someone. She acted repulsed, discusted. I guess she thought she was still supposed to see it as canibalism. I suppose she was not up on her reading.

I'm sorry.
I'm in the opposite position. My, 22 year old daughter, is shunning me. She hasn't spoken to me fore 3 years... because I'm evil.
Our loved ones are able to disconnect from us because they are trained to believe they are doing God's will. It's no different from trainer your child to kill himself and others with a homicide bomb.
Faith is very powerful and destructive.
I miss my daughter so much. She was married and told me not to show up (her last letter to me).
I still have two of her email addresses and I send her pics and a small note about life here. I don't know if she gets them, but I hope so. Could you do that? Nothing negative. Just a not with a pic;tell him what's going on in your life. Nothing long. He's the one who has cut the relationship, not you. Keep yourself in the front of his mind. Write a not as if you are not hurting and sad. Just a "Hey, I just cut my hair. What do you think. Love you." This is the way I handle it. If she is getting my emails, at least, she knows I'm thinking of her.
Best,
Bryan

And also, What loving persons Jehovah's people are!
Can't wait to hear the family's responses!
