IMPORTANT - document to download regarding UN situation

a good friend of mine has spent a considerable amount of time building an air-tight case against the societies handling of the united nations issue and has uploaded the information to share.

the document is just under 1 megabyte in size and suitable for print in microsoft word.. i suggest anybody with even a passing interest in this issue, downloads the file now.

Dating a JW when you are not

i found out from a mutual friend of ours, two months after my boyfriend and i had met, that he was a jw.

hello all.. this is my first time posting on this forum, my name is nathan and i have been waching the forum for the last few days.. the reson i am here is i am looking for a bit of encouragement and to ask for your prayers to help me.. ok i first came into the truth when i was about 6 years old i got baptized and was in the truth untill i was about 18 when i disasotiated myself.. im now 29 and somthing has happend in my life in the last month that has made me stand up and take a good long look at my life now and when i was a witness.. i have made my desition to go back to the meetings and hope to be reinstated.

i have just resently given up smoking (cold turkey) and am finding that to be hard after only one week.. tomorrow will be the first meeting i will atend on my long road to aceptance and i have to say i am very nervus about it.. anyway i wont take up anymore of your time i just wanted to ask if you could all remember me in your prayers and ask jehova to help me conquer my problems and then maybe i can have the life i used to have back

I was raised in the "truth". I too worked hard for my reinstatement back in '91. With in two years I was out again. You said something that sounded very familiar.

That's what happened to me. My grand-father died, lost my job, car, had very few friends. I will be honest with you. When you are in an emotionally week state, you tend to long and search for the better times. For me it was having so many friends, and family. I was being shunned at the time, so I had almost no one.

Looking back in was a very bad decision for me. After dissasociating myself, once again, my family and friends have turned their backs on me. Not because I did something wrong, but because I am not like them.

If you are having difficulties in your life, please be careful. If you truly want to be back with the people who only have conditional love, then I hope you find your peace and happiness.

I have learned so much since I left, I am very happy I'm not there any more. Did you know that the "this generation will not pass away" doctrin was changed in '95? Time ran out, so they had to do something different. This is just one of the issues I have with the witnesses. Not to mention their policy of breaking up families, and letting their children die instead of using life saving blood, which I'm sure you're familiar with.

Please take your time, pray about it, and good luck on your journey.

The last International Convention in Houston?

i assume it was an international convention.

i remember our house was full of relatives from ok including a tent or two in the yard.

anyone remember the year?.

I remember there not being room in the dome for some of us(or my uncle was afraid of the crouds), so I was in the one of the smaller buildings watching a big video screen.
