i need advice.

my daughter is getting married next month, she has no idea of the extent of my husbands and my fading as she lives in another area.. the thing is she really loves this guy and will marry him come what may, but my husband thinks she should know about us before she gets married.

im worried her bf might say we cant go to the wedding or stop her seeing us after.. ive got a idea hes a bit of a hard liner, controlling!

I just went through this almost as you are about to. My daughter was married two weeks ago. About three months before the wedding she sent me a letter telling me I was not invited to her wedding, nor was I to meet her husband to be, nor call her again. She does allow me to contact her via email and letters, thankfully. She told me in her letter that her new hubby-to-be was currently shunning two of his own disfellowshipped brothers. I feel certain it was his influence on her which made her take the final stand.
If your new son-in-law-to-be is a hardliner, he may do the same to your daughter. Remember, the man makes the final decisions! If she will marry him regardless, why does she need to know today? If your news will not change her mind on the marriage, then why bother? You will be shunned soon enough; sadly enough.
My personal opinion and hope you find your way peacefully.

Sorry I'm just now replying everyone. Thanks so much for your concerns.
My daughter told me she did not want me there, so I did not go. Not sure I could have shown up anyway and not cried in the back or hit someone out of unrelenting anger (I'm a lover not a fighter). I know she's brainwashed just as I was for years, but I would not make her feel uncomfortable on her special day... I know one day she'll wake up.
On the day of her wedding, I loaded the truck in Dallas and we stopped in Houston and had a great evening with my step-sister and some fantastic friends. On Sunday we drove on into New Orleans and moved into a new apartment.
So... here we are. And there she is. I suppose we all deserve to live our own life; don't we? She'll wake-up... right?

Mormons Own Marriott Hotel Chain?

it was brought to my attention that mormons own the marriot hotel chain and , as other religious corporation we know, they get tax breaks for being a "charitable/religious corporation".

has someone else heard thisabout the marriot?

Mormon or not, I love their hotels and am even a platinum member.
Yes, they do have a Book of Mormon along with a bible in every room.
They are the only hotel I stay in. I think the greatest attraction is the wide range of hotels. You can stay at the Fairfield Inn if you're broke or Renaissance for a great luxury stay. They also partner with The Ritz-Carlton, New Otani, Peppers Retreats & Resorts, Voyages Hotel - Australia,Ashford Castle, Dromoland Castle .

After reading my post I thought I may have come off a little sarcastic about watching the station. The way I was looking at it was how I used to watch CNN and MSNBC... I now only watch FOX. I don't like the others... so I don't watch them.

my wife and i are having discussions with our bible study daughter lately, and she is getting together at our house with our other daughter who is not involved with j.w.

's, tonight.

she says she wants to see all of us, and have pizza together for supper.

warning examples for our times was a wt release video that came out a couple of years ago.

at the times i was given it to watch so i could know the seriousness of my daughter marrying an unbeliever (any of you who have heard my story know she had never become a believer herself, so technically was an unbeliever too, thus not qualified to marry a believer either, but made guilty by association with the jws--catch 22 situation).

anyway, the video horrified me at the time.

I Left the borg in early 90s, and have never seen the video. As I read your story it made me think of a mafia hit man showing the picture of sombody he chopped up last year.
"You's wouldn't want your little girl to end up like that, now would ya?" Says the hitman.
WJs are tought, this is what God made someone do, because somebody else was bad. Like a pedifile stabing a child doll and saying, "You wouldn't want that to happen to your little brother now would you?"
