I agree Min.
This would in a sense, corral the good Dub cattle, and isolate them even more from those who had found the real truth.

eventually, i believe that if an inactive person refuses to talk to elders, stops all meetings and service and might create any possible problem to the local congregation, that they might be loopholed into showing themselves as having "disassociating" themselves.
it would be an easy way to get rid of deadweights that can cause more harm than good in the congregation.
I agree Min.

our kid told me this week end that her classes at college are not challenging enough, they are filling her schedule up with projects & busy work, & that she is either going to law school, or for her degree to become a history professor at the college.
she was going for elementary education.
lawyer was what she really wanted to be in the first place.
Congrats Gypsy!

i'm new to the forum.
glad i found this place, it seems i've finally found somewhere i feel comfortable.
i'm writing this to get some stuff out of my system.
Cheeseman,
I'm glad you found the place. I agree with everyone else. You really need to concentrate on yourself right now. I hope you find some peace with your professional help.
Thanks for sharing your story and look forward to hearing from you more.

as you know i just returned from visiting my great-aunt whom i hadn't seen in 40 years (she's still a jw).
i asked her if she shunned my mother when she was disfellowshipped in 1964. she said they society did not promote shunning at this time.
is this true?
Actually, the one who deliberately does not abide by the congregation?s decision puts himself in line to be disfellowshiped for continuing to associate with such one.I love this threat also! Sounds so mafioso.
"Alright boys... the line starts right here!"

what if we started a fund that guaranteed one of the bethel or gb old-timers an income and a place to live for the rest of their life if they turned over information and documents that would crush the society?.
there's gotta be some rich apostates out there right?.
after reading "crisis of conscience" and "search of christian freedom" i was struck by how many men in the writing department and executive committees are fully aware of "the truth about the truth" and how these men are scared to say anything for fear of being cast out of bethel with nothing.. it also explains why some of those brothers that i met while there seemed almost sad and solemn and kept to themselves.. if one of these men knew that he and his wife would have a place to live and a regular income for the remainder of their days ... who knows what could come of it .... anyways ... just my thought for the day.
A member of the GB left and it didn't destroy the Watchtower. I doubt a writer would do it.

*** w50 2/15 p. 56 how to stick to it ***.
you have a limited amount of time to give to the training of your mind.
if you consume all of that time with worldly reading, radio entertainment, television, etc., and thinking on earthly things, you are wasting time that can be used to build up a protective barrier against the darts of the enemy.. .
One wonders why the pope does not take an interest in the millions of people who live in Central and South America and get his priests there to straighten out the lives of those indulging in immoral living, for in Latin America one finds the height of adultery and fornication, plus lying and stealing.
Oooohh! Damn those Latin Americans! Their so Eeevil!
lmao!

the only elder i have any respect for in the congregation came by tonight - haven't had a visit from any for two years or so.
i suspected that he was either a decoy - trying to get me to say something that would cook my goose - or he had good motives trying to invite me to memorial.
any other elder and i would have said get lost, but this guy and i have been friends since 1970. he is always welcome in my house and i just couldn't turn him away.
Welcome watchowerhater!

Thanks everyone for the experiences. Still hoping to hear from one of our wise ones with a Watchtower quote or simular.
But keep the stories coming!
Thanks!
