Jehovah doesn't help with new car transaction unless you ask....
by desib77 inthe other day when i was visiting with my mother she was looking at the new car she and her husband had just purchased.
she told me that they now realize there payments are higher than they should be.
she said sister so and so is going to get them a better loan at her company.

we have two completely different backgrounds and we have discovered that we want diff.
things to be done to us when we die.

We have two completely different backgrounds and we have discovered that we want diff. things to be done to us when we die. I wonder if my background as a JW is affecting my wishes on this.
I told him that if something happened and I were to die, I would like to be cremated. He couldn't believe that ....he was really in shock. His wish is to be buried and I think he thought I felt the same. (Just one more thing that didn't get covered before marriage )
Is it strange that I don't want to be buried in the ground? Do any of you ever think about this? (Believe me it isn't something I think about often...but it came up when discussing family matters.)

She told me that they now realize there payments are higher than they should be. She said Sister so and so is going to get them a better loan at her company. Anyway, she then went on to say that neither she nor her husband prayed about the matter before purchasing the car........
I couldn't help it. I started to laugh. I asked her, "So you are telling me that your interest rate is high because you didn't ask for Jehovah's help?"
Mom, "Well, we should have prayed about it."

jewelry mishap - too funny

I did something similar. I wore a necklace with a cross in it (there was other stuff, too) to my mom's house...she commented on the necklace being nice just so I would realize I had it on. At first I thought she may not have noticed the cross part but I have no doubt that she did.
hehe, oh well.....

Personal Relationship with Jehovah?????

when i was in the truth, i remember how we were encouraged to cultivate a personal relationship with jehovah.
we were to think of him as our friend and to rely on him soley.

I must admit, I just wasn't able to do that for some reason, and I still can't.
Hi....Welcome to the board.
I could do it for about a day or two but then I would just forget to talk to him.....I would get busy with my life and forget. After assemblies and such I would be really pumped up spiritually and would come back home ready to get myself in shape...I would start studying my watchtower regularly, reading my bible and talking to God all day long (in my head of course)....but then it would stop...and life would take over until the next convention where I would get bashed for not having a personal relationship with Him.
