i'm really curious about this subject.
i guess i still tend to think anything strange that happens is demons.
now that i'm trying to be open about other possibilities i'm curious.. have you had any experiences with ghosts or haunted places?
Desib,How close are you to New Orleans? I absolutely fell in love with NO when I was down there last summer. I can't wait to go back. Just need to convince the "other half" to go! He hates the hot and humid stuff.
Hi GH. We are actually about 5-6 hrs. from New Orleans. We are in Shreveport. I love it, too, though. We are hoping to take a trip there within the next year or so.

my father-in-law is in the icu tonight recovering from quadruple bypass surgery.
i didn't know what to expect tonight going in to the visitation but it was very, very difficult to see.
he seemed to recognize us somewhat and understand that we were there but then drifted back to sleep.
I just wanted to update this post...
My father-in-law is doing as well as can be expected. We had a little bit of a scare when we were up there earlier today. He told us he thought he was dying. Then he couldn't breath and we had to get a nurse. He is doing okay now but recovery will be very slow. He will be in the ICU for a while.
Very sad news about the little baby I mentioned earlier in this thread. We were told that she didn't make it.
Having spent most of the day at the hospital we saw many other terrible things and heard another story of a couple who's son-in-law was hit in the head with a metal hook at work and has had brain surgery but will not wake up. I felt so bad for them. They have been there every day for 3 weeks.
It really puts things into perspective seeing other people's pain.

Actually, had a long day and tough evening so I'm going straight to bed....
the rat man and i are going to participate in a murder mystery weekend at the jefferson hotel, in jefferson, texas starting on september 17th.
the cost: the room cost, plus $110 per person for saturday, saturday night, and sunday day.
all meals included.
DesiB: Let us know! Whereabouts in Texas do you live? I am looking forward to going to Jefferson anyway because it has so many historical places, and I love East Texas with all the big, beautiful pine trees! I planted some pine trees at our house because I love them so much, but my colt ate them and left nubs. He was bored that day.. heheh.
Actually, I live in Shreveport...but we are very close to the LA / TX state line. Have you been to Jefferson before? I love it....
We probably aren't going to make the whole weekend but PM me when it gets a little bit closer and we can make plans to meet up.

It was really tough to see all the other people in there, too....very sad. One person was in the hospital with their 2 year old grandaughter in ICU while the 20 year old mother had just been killed in an accident yesterday.
I just want to keep all of those people in my thoughts tonight as they are having to watch their loved ones go through horrible things..
To everyone who is suffering through their loved one's pain.
