Ghosts and Haunted Places
by desib77 ini'm really curious about this subject.
i guess i still tend to think anything strange that happens is demons.
now that i'm trying to be open about other possibilities i'm curious.. have you had any experiences with ghosts or haunted places?

Sirona.. I appreciate your soapbox.. I have struggled on and off with weight for years.. when I have lost it has always been with a lot of work and people who do not understand, seem to think it is easy.. they have no clue for some how it is
I completely agree...however, it doesn't surprise me that those responses came from men. I was just going to ignore them...but makes me feel good that you said something about it.
For women especially weight is really tough to lose. Our bodies want to hold onto it more then men's bodies.
The "killer" for me has been that I'm working at home now and have been for the past year (in which I've gained the most weight). Not only do I have much less physical activity during the day, but I tend to snack....both bad and both are things I want to change. Oh, and being married now seems to affect it. It was much easier for me to diet when I was single. It seems that once you're married it is easy to get "comfortable" and slip back into bad habits.
I guess my question wasn't as much how do you lose weight, because I along with everyone else knows how to do that, but is there a program that helps you stick with it?

Anyone have success with weight watchers?
What works best for you when you want to lose weight? I guess I'm mainly asking the ladies...It seems like it is always so easy for men to drop weight. It just seems to fall right off of them when they put their mind to it.

Why do men "play" dumb?
by Netty inso i am here this morning with my octopus arms, making the kids breakfast with one hand, getting them dressed with the other, doing their hair with another hand brushing their teeth with another hand, etc.
you get the picture... while my husband sits at the table reading the newspaper.
both kids are complaining of sore throat and have some sort of summer cold, so i asked hime could you please get the medicine and give them some medicine, and what does he do?

I've often wondered that myself. Right after I got married a little over a year ago, my husband started playing dumb. When I would ask for help folding the clothes he would say, "I don't know how"....so when I told him I would fold them if he would put them up he said, "I don't know where they go"......to me, they do it because they are too lazy to help.
Since then, things have changed. Even though I still do the laundry, he helps quite a bit with the housework and so forth. I just had to let him know that I'm not stupid enough to believe he could possibly be that stupid.

My father-in law..
by desib77 inmy father-in-law is in the icu tonight recovering from quadruple bypass surgery.
i didn't know what to expect tonight going in to the visitation but it was very, very difficult to see.
he seemed to recognize us somewhat and understand that we were there but then drifted back to sleep.

Yesterday was a tough day in the ICU waiting room. Somone was told that their child had died and it was horrible to watch the pain they were in. My mother-in-law was in tears. It is really tough on her being there all day every day waiting for the few visitations she gets.

Glad he's doing a little bit better. Yes, being in ICU or in the hospital at all will make most of us count our blessings TWICE! Please tell your FIL from me that my dad had triple bypass surgery quite a few years ago and it is slow going to get over it but he WILL feel better! Just take it slow, do what the doctor says, and things will be fine. The incision, since they had to saw through his chest, will hurt for quite a while but that too will get better.
Thanks, Nina. I can only imagine how much it hurts. He seems to be in a lot of pain. Plus the atmosphere of the ICU is getting to him. They lost someone in there yesterday and I think that bothered him. I know he will be glad when he can be moved to a room.
