This also disgusts me! I work At a Hospital and clinics. I see the PHD Doctor from some of the most famous college's of the nation on the walls of there office. Yes very impressive!. These are very good people dedicated to help mankind they even take an oath and live up to it. What kind of spew comes out of the talks of the assembly is just ridiculous. Hello there Brother assembly speaker you might be the one D.E.A.D if you get no one to help you from a person with a doctors PHD!!!!

Last Night an Elder called me,,,,but

i didn't answer the telephone, i just didn ' t feel like getting all riled up as i have enough on my plate right now.. it was the same elder who showed up at my bedside while i was recently in the hospital.

i told the hospitals administration years ago to take my off the jw list for visitations.

so i was quite shocked to see this guy.

Thanks for the video. But it made me sick, after one minute I had to stop it. I also noticed the place was half empty. When I was a kid they were packed!

Packing ?

just curious if any other xjw's carry concealed weapons on a regular basis ?

because of my work (job that pays the bills) and my business (will pay the bills somday) i got into the habit shortly after leaving the dubs.

now i am a solid supporter of a law abiding, qualified citizen's right to legally carry.

Now I understand the club of concealed carry. I was stoped for going 10 mph over the limit. The officer come up to me, and I handed him my drivers licence and my concealed weapons permit. He went back to his car and came back. We started talking guns. So we argued about Glock verses Springfield's XD. Nice guy. Last winter a very aggressive man came up to me wanting money. I said I have no money for you. He said yes you do. I then shouted back off! showing him the handle of the XD 9mm. He got the message and ran off.

how did being referred to as a brother or sister make you feel?the term brother always reminded me of being in some militant or holy roller religion.

during my tenure as a jehovahs witness, i brought it to the elders attention to refer to .

me by using my first or last name when addressing me.

A few weeks ago, I was eating in a restaurant about 120 miles from home. I used to go to the "meetings" in that small town. I bumped into 3 elders and two of them introduces me to the 3rd elder as this is brother **** from **** cong. Only if they knew! It kinda gave me the creeps this brother thing..20 years ago I was working at a JWs house and kids and the mother always called me brother ***** and brother all the time. I finally said my name is ***** (first name)please call me that.

it's official; they read the letter tonight that puts forth the new procedure.

if you find an expelled person in the field or are studying with one, you are no longer permitted to give them lit.

presumably the elders make a decision if an expelled one is regularly attending meetings, but only they can give them lit.

Lurkers! How do you put up with it?

i just cannot understand how any one in their right mind can read the experiences here concerning the wachtower society's false claims, lies, trickery and deceit, and the example shown by the so-called "elders" in treating the flock with disdain and cruelty, and still stay a jehovah's witness.. lurkers, how can you do that?

do you simply dismiss all the evidence?

have any of you experienced such evil acts personally and still stay connected to the jw's?.

with the summer DC's coming up, how far do/did you have to travel?

just wondering, i was trying to figure out where the conventions were in the upper northwest of the usa and how far the montana, idaho, dakota witnesses have to travel?

it was fun to get away for a weekend when i was a teen, but now as an adult, i would rather go have fun in a cool city.

for me: first couple of years, drive 2:15 hours to the convention city-------------------------- next 5 years.

seems a dear brother was under the impression i had slighted him somehow (to this day i still have no idea what i did), and moved to the city telling everyone about strange masturbatory practices i partook in.

i have no problem admitting i'm an active participant of wining, dining and self seduction, but the things he cooked up in his head were disgusting (even to a perv like me .

Yes I was slandered! I had to take 3 lie detector test and a interview from the police. The gossip never stopped. I pleaded and cryed to the elders for the slander to stop. (They never helped) Then I hired an antorny told him what was going on he was really shocked. He cut his rates in half. My attorney did some letter writing to elders and pioneers ETC. The slander stopped it was like turning off a light. I realize now the janitors electricians and plumbers did not help. GH

Getting rid of books, bound volumes, etc.

i've been inactive for about 10 years now, and its time for me to get rid of some of my wt stuff, but what do i do with it all???

i have all the wt stuff on a bookshelf in a spare bedroom, but now i need this shelf space.

what i most want to get rid of first are the wt & awake bound volumes.
