Question for Dubs

to this very day, the wts teaches that "babylon the grape" ("the world empire of false religion") "fell" in 1918. that was 86 years ago, yet religion is bigger than ever before in the world, and for the most part it is practiced without any problems or governmental intervention.

it is cults like the dubs which do get government interference in place, mostly because of their blood ban, and their sick and destructive social culture.. where then, and how then, did babylon the grape "fall" in 1918, little dubbies?.

I would just like to point out to you that much of what Jesus said was impossible to do and he had that specific reason for saying it. Like when the man said "I have kept the law since birth," he was like "Oh you dont say. Well then Mr Self Righteous Rich Guy, give all your money to charity too." Of course he is not expecting the guy to actaully do it. He told him to do it knowing he wouldn't. He was trying to demonstrate than no one can realistically take a self righteous attitude.

I don't think that Jesus meant for criminals to reign supreme. He meant like if someone offends you take the high road and don't take revenge, petty violence leads to chaos if it allows itself to escalate. He gave praise to law enforcement on more than one occasion.

I also don't necessarily agree that he believed in the flood myth. Just because he referred to it doesnt mean he is saying it was a real event. He did give lessons usings events that did not actually happen. The "good Samaritan" for instance did not actually happen.

I know you can bring up plenty of other complaints that I cannot so easily answer but hey, Ive got to try right?

Watchtower's view of the Death of the Christ

there was always something in the way the watchtower presented the "passion" (although they have never called it that (?))..

if you look in the "live forever book..." you may remember the picture of the old fashioned scale in which a naked adam is on one end and christ, or a watchtower depiction of him, is on the other.

If you look in the "Live forever book..." you may remember the picture of the old fashioned scale in which a naked Adam is on one end and Christ, or a Watchtower depiction of him, is on the other. The circumstances of Christs suffering are presented to the viewer, the Christian even, in a mathematical equation style. Without any emotion or reverence for the act. Just mere acknowledgement that Jesus was killed and now you can yada yada yada equations and such. In the end it is presented to the observer, even the Christian, that Jesus died so you can be resurrected. The sacrifice was FOR GOD?

You are left with the idea that the sacrifice was for God and it allows God to resurrect you. I tell you this, I am pretty perceptive and I never got the impression that Jesus died for my sins from the WTS. I learned ALOT but that was not something I learned.

When I went to an evangelical Church (LCMS), in the bible classes it was presented with solemn and sincere reverence exactly what Christ did, how and why. Christ died for my sins. He suffered for my sins. He eagerly pushed aside naysayers like Peter that told him that was not his destiny so he could suffer on a cross for ME. It was VERY reverent. There was a profound sense of contemplation when discussing the passion. We did not go into mathematical equations and scales to show how Jesus gave up what Adam lost. Now if you want to do that feel free but I dont see how you can appreciate such a thing if you treat it along the lines of 6 lbs of fine carrots replace the 6 lbs of carrots we lost so now your carrot can be resprouted and then ignore the bulk of what was involved or divert yourself with some asinine obssesion with a vertical pole as opposed to a lower case "t" in latin.

Well to sum it up I realized that with the evangelical Church I was the one that nailed Jesus to the cross. I required his sacrifice and I benefitted from it and Jesus did it for me for that specific reason and am enocouraged to really contemplate on that love that bought me and the price that was paid.

With the JWs they ram it down your throat that Jehovah sent this perfectly nice houseboy named michael to become human and was basically commanded to suffer or else be turned into a demon like satan and be destroyed. The sacrifice was for God to make God happy about eventually creating duplicates of people that died so the duplicates can perhaps live forever if they prove themselves loyal to a radically anti-military organization named after a medieval military recon structure. In return for this fine work Michael will recieve the magnificent reward of barely getting any attention from God's only true organization, and when he does get attention he is basically being compared as the replacement for the original rebel man, while Satan's helpers worship him to no end. Oh and btw Satan knows Mikey is going to fry his ass, but for some reason Satan insists on having his organizations praise Jesus (aka Mikey) as if he were God almighty. Finally Mikey gets to be barely recognized as king, even though he is recognized as king, a little bit for a little while but then after 1000 yrs of being more or less ignored goes back to not being king and just plain ol' mikey where he wont get much less attention.

I dont know, if Satan is out in force getting people to worshipJesus then maybe Satan isnt completely f***** up, but some how I doubt he is doing that. The evangelical church tells me Satan has a big smear campaign running against Jesus. I dont know if that is really true but somehow it makes more sense to me.
