My Grandmother was extremely senile. She had Alzheimer's really bad. But that didnt stop her from wandering off in the middle of the night trying to walk to the Kingdom Hall. She didnt know ANYTHING. But she knew she had to go to the meeting, even if it was 3 AM.

I am not df'd I was never baptized.
1)There was one guy that I got along with real well. Unfortunately he was a couple years older and got disfellowshipped before I left. Doug Craft or Doug Kraft I dont remember the spelling. I was so surprised when I was getting to know him because I had never met a dub kid that was as bad as I was. He would swear, look at dirty magazines, drink, make explosives, play heavy metal, fight. I havnt seen him since before I left.
2)Watching the other JW kids go from incredible wieners to fairly rebelous.
I remember in the 6th grade a group of girls that I didnt recognize walked by me and said "hi (my name)." It was like the first week of middle school and I had been in the town less than a year, "Who the f***?"
And then they all gasped and were shocked and then I realized 'Aw s***'
This is where the good part comes. I noticed one of the other girls that wasnt there came on my bus and was sitting near me. I was thinking to myself 'what is Jennifer (pretty but retarded self righteous bizotch) doing here?'
As I neared my stop she finally said something to me, "Christina says you said a bad word."
"What?!?"
"Christina says you said a bad word."
"What?!?" I know what she is saying but I dont believe it. She thinks I cant hear her because the bus is noisy. After about the 4th time she repeated herself, she finally said "Nothing, nevermind."
Christina my narc turned out to be a party chick in highschool. She was the only one that was at all "bad" from that little group. I was still way too much for her though. Joanna Hilly and her older sister left but I didnt really know them at all. Joanna was really hot, I should have tried to pick her up later on. So out of about 20 JW kids at my congregation only 5 left, me, my sister, doug, joanna, her sister, and one guy died. He was bad too but he "repented" before he died.
I cant remember Joanna's sister's name. She was also really good looking but much more Indian looking and much longer hair. I didnt even know they were sisters. Joanna looked so Anglo. She apparently did not want to be at the hall anymore though. I got a kick out of her tactics. She was like sixteen. She obviously didnt care. I had no idea any of this was coming but she just started making noise one day. And then her mother would put her hand on her mouth. And when she moved it she would make the same noise again instantly. She was laughing and smiling. It worked apparently because thats the last time I ever saw her. I thought she was crazy until I started doing the same thing and then I understood.
Then there was this kid Brandon I think was his name. He was a year younger. This was in the 5th grade. We were going to his apartments to go swimming. He asked me what I would tell my mom about something and for the sake of simplicity I said I would just tell her something else. And he responded after a moment of confusion "That would be a lie." voice going up at end.
"What?!?"
3) Bethany Bradshaw . I still cant believe she was only a year older than me. She was perfect. Didnt know her though. She married some dub.
4)Then there was the one morning when I was 14 or 15, probably 15. Some new really good looking voluptuous woman in the congregation was out in service and came to my door with another sister. Immediately my eyes were drawn to her really low cut dress, really low cut. She was a few inches shorter than me. She had puffy black hair, blue eyes and a big smile. I know she knew I lived there. And this was back in those days when I did not yet realize you can tell where someone is looking when they are looking at you. She seemed to get a kick out of it. Man, I can only wonder what if.
5)The roast beef sandwiches at the assemblies and conventions.
6) Jason Holmes was a bad apple but he is still loyal as far as I know. Although he barely attends. Poor guy he was pretty cool we would be friends. I should hit him up.

The Effeminate JW man
by Maverick intime to pick on the guys!
i was an adult when i was conned into the corporate cult known as jehovahs witnesses.
before that time i hung with a rough crowd of guys who carried guns and did bad things to people they didn't like, or who were stupid enough to let these guys know they disliked them.

Its not a masculine culture. There are no role models for young men in the group and they are never tested or taught how to handle themselves.
Masculinity is acheived in stages and incriments.
1)Fighting men that can kick the shit out of you. And then fighting men the can kick more shit out of you next time. At the very least fighting back when someone steps to you.
2)Hitting on girls that are out of your league but seriously hitting on them and not just as a gag.
3)Flirting with girls in general
4)Doing the things that you are afraid to do but know are important to do. Or basically overcoming your fears in general.
5)Speaking in front of an audience.
6)Starting conversations with strangers.
as you can see JWs are Restricted from the first two, the second two are ignored or mildly discouraged because the WTS uses fear as a tool, and they are only taught the last two. These last two are not even exclusive to men.
So if you are raised in JW you dont have much chance of becoming a masculine man unless you get out.

I don't see a problem with that statement either. The USA/UK (most powerful alliance) attacked a defenseless nation. How much courage does that take?
He said that like just a few days after 9/11, before we attacked Iraq. Iraq was also not defenseless either, Im not saying they were much of a threat but they were certainly a poweful force in the region.
I want to add one more thing though. I completely deplore this second invasion of Iraq. I consider Bush a war criminal.

Explanation to Bush as 42nd President
by Brownboy innumbering of the presidents.
you may have noticed that the numbering of the presidents on this site differs slightly from other sources.
the reason is because of the two non-consecutive terms that grover cleveland served in the late 19th century.

DustyB,
if you want to get technical, every 20 years when a president got shot or died, and the VP took over, the VP wasn't president because he wasn't elected.
You are wrong. The VP is elected to the position of VP. Along with that comes the approval of the electorate for him becoming president should the president die or fall ill. In the case of Ford he was not elected to VP wheras LB Johnson for instance was elected to VP.
so TECHNICALLY they aren't presidents either because they weren't elected.
No, they were elected to VP. They are real presidents.

Mulan,
Bill not only said that the terrorists were not cowards but he immediately followed that by saying 'we (the US) are the cowards. We are the ones lobbing cruise missiles at the middle east.' I was watching that broadcast. Right or wrong it was incorrect timing at the least. He seemed to like eating his feet because over the next couple of weeks amidst the fallout he managed to defend himself by saying things like:
'Well Im just saying what everyone else is thinking but doesnt have the guts to be the first one to say. I am like the first guy getting of the landing craft on omaha beach in Saving Private Ryan who takes the bullet right in the forehead.'
That is the comment that ended the show. He needed to apologize and say something like given what we have all just been through, my comments were inappropriate, but instead he tried to make himself seem like some kind of martyr.
alirobbi,
It appears I was mistaken. I recalled Paul's words in Romans and his refference to God made me think of Jesus. I was wrong.

The funniest thing I ever saw Bill Maher do was his HBO show "Real Time" just after the latest State of the Union.
He was doing this coutry music parody and basically quoting the president's words for lyrics.
the chorus was something like 'many weapons of mass destruction program related activities and significant amounts of equipment! program related activities...' it was one of those moments of genius where it all comes together.
Bill is wrong about Jesus though, he did mention homosexuality.

Things about Jesus the Borg didn't tell us
by ozziepost inhas it ever troubled you when you read a scripture that tells you something about jesus that the borg doesn't?.

The Borg did not tell us that
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life nor that no one comes to the Father but by Him. Sounds like a little rivalry if ya ask me.
The Truth. The WTS is the Truth.
The Way. Living in accordance with WTS society rules is the way.
The Life. The Life is what you leave behind when you remove your thinking cap and take the plunge for Jehoober's true Organization
