Suggest a curry

friday night is indian night in our house, but i'm getting a bit board of the same curry each week, useally a tikka masala.. anyone have a suggestion on a curry i should try for a change ?

every now and again we discuss on this forum the degree of control that the society enjoys over its members the rank and file.

that there is huge control is beyond dispute, i would guess.

but theres more to it than just a simple predatory attitude from brooklyn (though thats there, for sure).

I dont know if it was ever returned, but the question of who had swiped the hoover was the talk of the hall for a while!

Going out with a bang

after much deliberation, i decided to go "out" at the end of a public talk.

it didn't go down too well, but at least i was able to give some of my reasons for leaving.. i've put some of the details on my homepage.

i'll update it more when i get the time and the strength.

I am a daddy!

my daughter was born at 9:05am tuesday morning.

she's a skinny little thing, 7 pounds 5 ounces, with a shock of black hair, her father's chin, her mother's eyes, and a fetish for sucking on fingertips that neither of us recognize in ourselves.

i'll post pictures when i have them up somewhere ... meanwhile, foxy and i are trying to catch as much sleep as possible, which is precious little sleep at all.

well, i've finally had it.

i'm da'ing myself, along with a piece of my fam.

the unbaptised ones are refusing to go with my father now, and even my still devout father is leaning towards our opinion on things.. there wasn't even any screaming when i called the jw's the great hypocrisy last nite.. i just can allow myself to be associated with them in any way.

the average jw elder participates in extra exclusive activities over and above the rank & file jw: among them are the judicial committees, private meetings with the circuit and district overseer on various official occasions, possession of the secretive flock book, and kingdom ministry school.. of all these, the least frequently experienced is km school.

it is not all that exciting, because much of what is covered is admonition about what most jws already know that elders are supposed to be doing: examples in field service, regular shepherding calls, meeting preparation and attendance, study with the family, etc.
