No there used to be a chat room, but we ended up having to take it down. You never know it may come back at some point

No one is "disfellowshipped" from this forum. People who break the posting guidelines however can have their account deactivated, as happens on thousands on non-JW related internet forums everyday.

I think some of the comments on this thread are disgusting and offensive, so you would happily bomb a whole country over the actions of a few extremists?
Please refer to Guideline 2
Inciting hatred on the basis of race, religion, gender, nationality or sexuality or other personal characteristic

looky looky - A 'real' J-dub forum! (are they becoming normal???)
by Reality79 inso did the 'da society' give these dub internet savvies permission to start a forum?
because last i checked, the ole boys in their oversized brooklyn bunker didn't want their members on the internet unless it was to view their own official websites.
i thought maybe it was an apostate forum until i read their long winded, typically condescending jdub style membership guidelines:.

i'm sure there are some canadians here, so please voice your oppinion - am i out of my mind to move there, or is it the best decision of my life?

There's a weird cultural phenomena called "Tim Horton's". It's a coffee and doughnut shop. Nothing special, except that nearly every Canadian is addicted!
hmmm Tim Horten's in the morning, does that make me a real Canadian now?
I love the I am Canadian advert!
Yes, as Jgnat say we moved over at a really bad time as the house market had rocketed but we had to take the opportunity while it was there, things aren't quite so crazy now though.
On that note thought one thing that can be a challenge is when you first arrive you will have zero credit history and so it can be difficult to secure a mortgage / car loans etc might not be so bad now though, even if you can show you history from your home country it counts for nothing really . It doesn't take too long to get things going but they make you jump through a lot more hoops in this respect so make sure you have lots of documentation and are prepared for a lot of questions !

Best thing we ever did when we moved from UK to Canada
We also were in the position on not having degree's so we both got our degrees through the Open University (not sure if you are currently in UK). Simon secured a job offer and we moved over on a work permit, we were then able to fast track our permanent residence application. Getting a degree will also give you extra points on the application to move here.
The Winters are a shock to the system but you get used to it (sort of !).

All new accounts have a very low posting limit until they have been fully approved. You should not be creating duplicate accounts anyway.

Sorry to hear this. It's not silly at all, they are a part of the family and you need to grieve for them.
