  Losing our dog Kate....she was unique.

  to me today was the saddest day for a long while.

  kate my sisters dog developed a strange cough a week ago and so we too her to the vets and he gave her a steroid and antibiotic injection and kept her in for 4 days, she was diaganosed with "collapsed trachea syndrome" she was a yorkshire terrier and apparently this is common in small dogs like this.. my dad is a carpet fitter, and just over 2 years ago he was doing a job in a house close by and the woman that owned kate at the time kicked her as she walked past her and cussed at her as she cowered, dad was appalled and said he'd take her, which he did, and jane (my sister) took her in and spoiled her rotten.

  this little bundle of nerves really developed into a fantastic little dog, she looked like a little rat to be honest!

  Woohoo! My son graduated from Infantry Training!

  my son dominic graduated friday from advanced infantry training at fort benning, ga. needless to say, i'm a very proud mom.

  he has been selected to join the honor guard (or old guard) and will be stationed at fort myer, va...but we get to have him home for a few weeks.

  Alicia case 'now murder inquiry'

  Police are now treating the disappearance of Devon teenager Alicia Eborne as a murder inquiry.

  The 18-year-old has not been seen since leaving her home in the hamlet of Corntown, near Plymouth, last Friday.

  Detectives said they believed they knew the location of Alicia's body and would be trying to recover it on Sunday, but would not reveal details.

  A 39-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on Thursday evening and can be held in custody until Sunday night
