I have to disagree about the point that we "knew the rules" before we came into the org.
That simply isnt true.
Have you ever looked at how much space is given in any of the older 192 page books or the PE book or even the Knowledge book to subjects such as shunning, blood, disfellowshipping or what happens if you just change your mind or dont want to go on the work or similar.
As regards DF and DA issues as far as it was explained to us it was something that happened to really evil people the hitlers of this world, not your son or daughter who chose to go to another church or something equally innocent.
That is why they do a very good job of not letting any in the da or df situation ever make contact with those who are studying.
Most things are put across as optional - field service, ministry school etc, it is only after baptism that the pressure is slowly applied and the screws turned.
It is a very clever and evil cult with those who do the most to spread its doctrines in an ignorant state about its real credentials.
I should know, I came in at about 24 and left at 42 approx. Other half was an elder and sec for a good number of those years and we where involved with KH maintenance in the local circuit so saw and learned a fair bit about the internal politics.

Favorite food at Assemblies
by finnrot ini hated growing up as a witness.
i hated the boring ass meetings where you could hear a pin drop on the floor, i hated going door to door and i hated not being normal like the other kids.. but the one thing i liked was going to the assemlies at the oakland coliseum.
i would wander around and find other kids to goof around with.

First assembly we went to was at a holiday camp that the dubs took over from fri-sun eve.
All the kitchens etc were staffed by dubs and the cooking was very good as some were actually chefs.
There was even a fish and chip shop on site again run by dubs which opened each evening, and we all stayed in the chalets on the site for the weekend.
We went for about 3 years before they built the first assembly hall for our area and then of course it gradually changed-and not for the better.Even very loyal dubs felt that something special was lost with opening of that assembly hall.

Monkey in the wrench
by D8TA injust throwing this out there:.
you live near a river that is your source of drinking water.
this river flows from a toxic lake.
-
anglise
Dont drink the water.
Warn your neighbours.Get several qualifed bodies to test the potability of the water.
Then form action groups to lobby the authorities to clean up the water at source or close the drinking outlets.
In the meantime make sure that everybody knows the quality of what they are ingesting so that they can make an informed decision.

by Nowfree ina group of exjws in the south of the uk are considering putting together a factsheet containing information about:.

For those already infected with the JW cult there is not just one cure that will work for all.
As has been said some who are already doubting might be helped by such an approach, but those really infected with it might never recover.
As with any infection anything that works for some is surely worth trying. -
