Whatever you do is fraught especially where teenagers are concerned.
The longer it takes the greater the risk of them marrying "in the truth" and then your problem is compounded.
None of us has forever despite the lies about a PE from the WTBTS.
Dont martyr those of your family and friends who could feasibly get out now for the sake of those who are still firmly entrenched.

2 Are there any elderly who have a phone but cannot get to the meetings? If so use the congregation phone to "Hook them up" and count them as attendees!! If there are more than one then use BTs conference service, the elderlys attendance at thje meetings for spiritual food is important (ie we can count them even if they are not here!) 3. In an elders letter to the congregation in November it highlights "attending the spiritual needs of the territory" including shopping malls, markets, town centres and old peoples homes. It suggests VERY STRONGLY approaching the owners of the mall, market etc to set up a stall to give the mags away. It also suggests that the owners of all local old folks homes be contacted to provide a "Free weekly bible discussion" to all elderly who want to attend in the home. This is to be a planned weekly event to increase the number of studys pioneers hold and "provide a valuable service to the community" The society expect to see Bible studies go up by 25% this year
They are just targeting the most vulnerable as usual. A few years ago it was the refugees, and learning enough of a relevant foreign language for "witnessing" was being pushed. Has this scheme fallen by the wayside?
Can we assume from this that the average person they meet on the DTD work is better informed about the JW's due to the internet and media exposure and placements (money) from this source are falling?
Is it also possible that this is to help them fulfil the status of being a registered charity? or have I become too cynical?
The elderly are just a soft target and those who care for them must be warned about this new tactic.

BTW visited your part of our Isle last year and thought is was brilliant. Hope to do it again soon.Where did you visit? I hope the weather was okay!
we visited in July and saw some of the touristy bits ie. Lochness, Glencoe etc, but none of the main cities. We toured round mainly on the West up to Skye but we only had 2 weeks so hope to go back this year. The weather was fairly kind for us. You are in a beautiful part of the UK.
Have tried to get info on the CO bash at Bethel but no luck yet. I will try other sources.

the wt society is so proud in promoting the notion that all jw's are so law-abiding and how they pay all their taxes.. yet there seems to be no moral problem for them when a jehovahs witness elder can be a full-time regular pioneer and at the same time collect unemployment benefits.
and not just in the short-term but in one case the elder has been a full-time pioneer for many years, all the while collecting unemployment benefits from the government.. so if there are any active brothers or sisters reading this post, could you please explain to me how this is not dishonest, just as dishonest as not paying taxes?

here in the UK congs you cannot reg pio or aux pio officially whilst drawing unemployment benefit.
What is OK'd is deliberately working less hours, ie part time, and then drawing all the top up benefits to keep you and your family ie rent rebates, council tax reductions etc. Probably the vast majority of pios do this.
We also know of lots who work cash in hand as well as there normal work and dont declare the extras.
Yes it stinks when it comes from those who purport to be whiter than white and gods chosen people.
These were some of the things that lead to our leaving the borg.

yesterday, i was on the phone with a friend i met while i was down in florida.
we had a nice long chat about how she doesn't feel as though she wants to be a jw anymore, and i gave her good guidence, and one of the peices of good guidence i gave her was "do not worry about your reputation, your reputation is held in low esteem by people who are in themselves in low esteem.
" she then told me about how my reputation was slammed down in florida.
Dont know what they say about us. Sometimes I care and sometimes I dont.
Puternut they wont talk to you because you know too many secrets about various ones (just read the http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/65846/1.ashx thread) and this will worry them. My other half was an elder and the cong sec and the sort thats lots would come to. We have never even seen our PO or any of the local body since we stopped going about 3 years ago. A newly drafted in elder was sent to collect the elders book and that was the only visit. At that time we hadnt done anything that they could use against us. Now we have done xmas and birthdays etc (how wicked) but we are not DA or DF.
We would love to ask questions about the UN, the 1975 fiasco, Malawi/Mexico etc, especially of those who lived through these events in the org but I thing they keep away deliberately.
I dont think you will ever have the chance to ask your questions either.

i've been lurking here, quietly and observing the board for about 2 years now.
Dont forget you can always plead "womans troubles" as a reason to the elders. They wont like to delve too deeply after that.
