  just finished watching a people's court case which involved a female jw landlord, who was suing a former tenant (also female) for breaching an apartment lease by moving out prior to the exiration of the lease, damage to the apt, etc.

  the jw won the case.. the ex-tenant attempted to defend the breach by relating that the jw landlord must have been repeatedly illegally entering her apartment when the tenant wasn't home, since she had been told by other tenants that the landlord had made comments (gossiped) about the tenant's furniture, lifestyle, etc..

  Will the Wt Split?

  based on the pressure that is building both within the rank and file and in the top management, i was wondering about the possibility of the wt fracturing into 2 groups: fundamentalist and liberal.

  the gb has recently taken a back seat to 3 new corporations.

  these were added to the multitude of corps they already have.

  The new Corporate leaders are all or mostly all "other sheep." They now have the power to summarily dismiss the GB at their whim and without reason or recourse. Furthermore, they have the legal and Corporate power to decide what goes in WT literature and what doesn't. This makes the GB mere figureheads who serve at the discretion of the Corporate officers.

  Not Quite Right!!!

  The corporations and their D&Os (whether GB or non-anointed as current) are controlled by the "members", whose loyalty to the GB has always been assured.

  Any rebellion by a corp BOD would be short lived until they would be ousted by the "GB controlled members", and any effects would be constrained by the way that different corps manage overlapping assets and functions.

  Thank's Dino for the citation, but more importantly that the image is of a "ram".
  
  Whether it is "Aries", I'll leave for speculation, as with whether either conclusion "fits" in the depicted scene of a JW home.

  a while back, i told of my wife going by our old kingdom hall and surprised to see an american flag hanging by the window.

  i thought this was picture worthy news, and some of you agreed.. well it turns out the congregation sold the hall to a phillipino church.

  Its amusing that some would criticize JWs for disposing of unwanted real estate to non-JWs, when such critics fail to jump on JWs for conducting worship services in facilities devoted to war-like activities (sports) and war-gods (sports stars). Even worse is when JWs conduct worship services in facilities owned/used by false religious organizations like Knights of Pythias, FreeMasons, etc.

  OOPS!!! That precedent was established by none other than the Miracle Wheat King himself, Charles Taze Russell, the acknowledged "faithful and discreet slave (prophet)" of the "Bible Students".
  PS: I know of several former KHs which were sold to churches, furniture stores, and even converted to private residences. However, I'm sure the deeds were all issued with restrictions that prevented future owners from performing non-christian activities for perpetuity.

  In recent weeks, the press in this country has focused attention on the way accusations of child abuse are handled by various religious organizations. Such reports may cause some sincere individuals to ask about the procedures followed by Jehovah's Witnesses. Therefore, we believe that it will be beneficial to review with you our Bible-based position, so that you will "know how you ought to give an answer" to any who may inquire.-Colossians 4:6.

  I love it how "Herr Goebels" words this paragraph such that there is absolutely zero acknowledgment of the Dateline Program, the numerous Newspaper articles over the past month, or any other ACTUAL inquiry directly relating to the WTS/JW's own policies. The wording is as if "sincere persons" might inquire re JW's Policies ONLY because it is a "religious organization", and any "religious organization" may possibly come under scrutiny.

  Even given all the KNOWN publicity that the WTS/JW's has received from television and newspapers, the WTS remains extremely careful not to give the slightest acknowledgment that "God's holyspirit-directed earthly organization" would ever yield to public pressure, much less reevaluate organization policy due to outside influences.

  SURELY, there are SOME JDubs who still have a sufficient number of active braincells left who can see through this BS.

  The Watchtower Society has acheived a level of propaganda acceptance by its brainwashed membership which Hitler, Stalin, and Mao only dreamed about.

  First, the ex-tenant lost on damages due to ackowledgment, and lost on breach due to failure to prove any other illegal entries other than the admitted one, plus early move-out didn't occur until 5 months after the flag incident occurred.

  Second, anyone who has been around JWs for any reasonable period of time would give this a 99.9999% probability of being a JDub.

  Third, to equate a visiting Canuck's failure to salute the US flag with what occurred here is simply "PLUM DUMB".

  One thing that letter, dated February 7, 2002 shows, is that the Society was quite aware of the Dateline program several months ago, but gave no advice about watching or not watching it. The Society left the decision up to us. (Say what?)

  As is sometimes suggested to do at the doors when there is opposition, in its letter to the congregations, the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses did not deal so much with the negative allegations as with accentuating the truth of the positive things we have done about this problem that affects the world at large, including us. I think all reasonable and honest people would agree that we have approached this matter Scripturally, sensibly, and legally.
