i used to thinik it was better... but now i realize it was a way for the elders to keep an eye on who was giving!

I never liked the new arrangement with all the labeled boxes, so I just put my money in one box, the entire time! I just thought that it was getting to be too much like asking for money and was rebelling against the "new light." That little thing was probably the beginning of the end for me....you know, not being faithful in small things. I kept all the donations I got in service as I had already paid for the literature. Look where I am today!!!

i was thinking the other day, why so many xjw's become atheist or agnostic.. is it because the wt admonishes us to "draw close to jehovah" so much, that when a witness finally does see the "light" regarding the watchtower, they feel that god has failed them?
think of the publication, "draw close to jehovah" - the book is practically a step by step guide to being god's friend.
because witnesses believe that jehovah and the watchtower are entwined, almost like a duality, then the closeness they feel with jehovah god must be a catalyst for deep discord in the event that the truth is discovered about watchtower teachings and dogma.
TS-Ross made the statement in another thread that spirits/God/whatever is picky on who they talk to...if that is the case then why are we all supposed to keep trying to contact them? If millions of people were trying to contact you, it seems that, being in that position, you would tell them a)the line is down, b)don't call me, I'll call you, etc. Instead, all you get is silence. I really think that what a lot of people experience when praying is that it helps them organize their thought process (meditation will also) and they attribute a certain idea with prayer, when in actuality, they will come up with the same idea on their own anyway. Everyone can test out this idea! Go for it!!!

I have prayed at least a million prayers in my life. I can't see that any were ever answered. I decided to test out that theory and not pray for a while...guess what? Nothing happened! I thought that I was closer to my creator than that.

it has often been said that the jw organisation of today is far, far different to the organisation that ct russell set up, both in beliefs and teachings as well as administration.
i've even heard it said that if ctr were alive today, he would be disfellowshipped for all manner of 'offences' as proscribed by the modern-day wts!
so, if it were possible for you to ask ctr just one question, what would it be?

last night on the news i learned that london has been closing its pubs at 11 p.m. and they are about to change that(i didnt know that before)
i live in the south (usa) and heres some things that you might find interesting:

This proves that they are playing with the numbers. Every one that I knew, including pioneers, took August off. Very little activity as it was too hot to be out there all day. Anyone else with the same experience? August was so dead for the most part!!!

like everyone this time of year when the weather is getting warm, thoughts turn to turkey.. i buy a small turkey around twelve pounds and do a high-heat chef marc turkey.
but before i do that, i brine it over night in salt water, onions and herbs.. it's to die for.. ok, the kitchen gets unbearably hot for a while, but then you have all this wonderful moist turkey to make cold sandwiches with.
try it, and you will never cook a turkey the old way again.. j
That sounds good... I like to use the Vertical Roaster, which stands the turkey upright. You cook it at 400o and it is so moist and tender! (You don't have to do any advance preparations...easy) If you worry about fat, this is one of the best ways to cook it. Enjoy!

sady, thanks to the watchtower org., i have few of either.
I feel good today!!! I was one of those witnesses that always had the big dinner on Thanksgiving...I believed in giving Thanks for all I had and sharing it with good friends and family. Due to health reasons, I can't cook like that anymore, but I am cooking a small dinner today. I am just glad that I have all those wonderful memories and I didn't let the organization dominate my every move.
It might help to get involved in community activities...like signing up to serve dinner for the homeless at Christmas! A lot of people that celebrate the holidays feel that there is something missing...and it helps when you do good things for others not so fortunate, but always remember to pamper yourself as well! You are important too!

if your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, you will only see one color, pink.
