im new to your website and im very thankful i have found it.

i was born and raised a witness but managed to get myself out after highschool and havent been back for five or six years.

now that i have a family of my own im totally confused.

Welcome.... What do YOU want to do? Do you think it's wrong to celebrate holidays? Have you researched information seperate from the JW teachings? NVR...I'm a 5th gener...I THINK THAT SPANKING CHILDREN SHOULD ONLY BE USED IS EXTREME CASES!!! That being said, I'm sure most of my friends that knew one of my sons would vote in a second to make it mandatory!!! LOL! I scolded my dog the other day for running off and then I went and bought him a new toy!!!

How I handled Child Abuse cases when I was an Elder (1996-2006)

hey ya'll.

i know there is a lot of buzz due to the nbc story.

i thought i'd share my experience as an elder dealing with abuse.. i attended 23 different congregations in my life and served as an elder or ms in 9 of them.

I would like to know what the other elders in these cases thought about the abuse? I had an elder tell me once that kids that had been molested should just "get over it" !!! He could not comprehend the damage that was done due to abuse. It seemed to me that a lot of elders I knew could either sympathize with or understand "sex crimes" by men (not women...that was not tolerated).
