  Xmas xchange present(s) arrived safely........

  i have already gotten an email from someone stating that their gift arrived safely in the mail.

  i thought it would be nice to start a thread where we can post what we got (for those nosey like me who want to know!

  ) and a thank you.. as for me, i haven't even begun yet!

  Well, the lights are halfway done.. I had to quit for the nite. The family will finish it this week while I am away in California.

  What is up w/my mom?

  i really hate jw hypocrisy.

  i love my mom but i am sick and tired of the hypocrisy from her and my family.

  last summer on august 10th a day before my sons 3rd birthday i recieved package from my jw family wrapped in cute gift paper.

  Last nite at supper, my 12 yr old asked if gramma is still a JW. I said yep, thats why we wont hear from her. She then asked if we have to send her a card anyhow. My wife said no, and I agreed. From there, the conversation went over to how my kids hoped that we didnt hate them if they make a decision we dont agree with... like gramma did. Well, my wife took over at that point and laid it on the line. Nothing they do, religious or otherwise, would make her ignore them. Ever. Nothing. Period. My youngest said cool and went on eating. My oldest thinks its all BS, the religion/shunning thing, so we went on about that. They are now fully aware of how it works and why I am what I am.

  So, flower, you have about 10 years before you will get grilled by your son. Be up front without badmouthing her/them, and the kids will get it. The sad thing is, they dont miss gramma. They just see her as some mean old lady. Funny, thats how I see her too.

  The Elder just walked out my door...

  i was having my usual bible study on thursday, with an elder from our local kingdom hall.. we are about half way through the knowledge book.. when i brought up the u.n. scandal and the silent lambs thing he just walked right out my door.. i am left wondering if he will come next week or if i am disfellowshipped even before i am baptized?

  I decided, with my son, to make this a special xmas for my wife, thier mom. So, we got a tree she wont forget, and is decorating it now..... mind you, I am 6'2 tall and my reach is 8'.

  Who or What is God? Who Cares?

  lately i find myself struggling with the simple fact that i do not believe there is a god, let alone any realm beyond the physical realm we are aware of.

  as many of you who know me know i am fond of tarot and astrology, for sometime now i find myself doubting the real significance of it all.

  right to not salute flag

  hey everyone .

  i'm doing a term paper on the flag salute case, mainly the court cases minersville v gobitis and west virginia v. barnette.

  i'm looking for anyone who had a problem with saluting the flag when they were in school.

  Just like not everyone should vote or drive, not everyone should salute.... many dont have the fortitude and respect in thier heart to do it. It shouldnt be mandatory anywhere, but rather be open to be done by anyone, American or not. It is all about respect.
