What happens when Bethelites are too old, infirm, or disturbed to work?
by True North inin barbara grizzuti harrison's book visions of glory: a history and a memory of jehovah?s witnesses (which is online at http://www.exjws.net/vg.htm -- i highly recommend it) there's an account of heartlessness at bethel that i found particularly troubling.
it's in "chapter iv.
accumulating wealth while the world refuses to die" (http://www.exjws.net/vg4.htm) and is as follows:.

According to Dave Malone, Fred Franz in 1983 was slipping down the road to senility. He often talked to his shoes.
Your question is a good one and I am wondering the same thing. It would really suck if one had devoted their entire life to serving the org and then got nothing when they could no longer work.

Experiences Dating after leaving.......
by nemo ini am going to embark on an adventure of dating outside of the jw's, i am currently fading so worried people will see me, but so be it.
i have some apprehension just because of all the negetive conitations that exist with worldly people, afraid i will never meet someone outside the organization that could meet my needs.
but i am taking a leap of faith and seeing what will happen.

All I can say is take it easy. Dating outside the org is fun but there are dangers. In my case, I was a really nice, naive guy and some of the women can really eat you up and spit you out. Same goes for the gals to. Men are bastards in general, so caution.

I have been through all of that, buddy, and I am now working on what is most important. The friendship thing, relationships that is, is so important. Focus on that and so much more falls into place naturally. Hang in there and don't give in or give up.
Sincerely,
Corvin

i think we need more details before declaring these two finds the official smoking gun...but they certianly seem signficant. trying to immediately downplay any finds of this nature only reeks of an agenda.
No, dubla, it reeks of the cynicism and doubt so richly owed to the administration because . . . um . . . you know . . . they are big fat liars . . . ?
I gave up smoking once. I got rid of all my cigs. An elder came barging into my house to use my pc and opened my desk drawer to look for a pencil and found one single cigarrette I had overlooked getting rid of. I did not even know it was there and had no intention of smoking it. I was df'd based on that single long forgotten smokey-treat . . . Damning evidence that I was a smoker? No, just a butthead looking for an excuse to exercise his power.

Of course reporters are not grasping at anything but a story, unless you are FOX, but it is Bush who is grasping at straws. Here's why . . .
"Iraq has stockpiled biological and chemical weapons, and is rebuilding the facilities used to make more of those weapons . . . " George W. Bush, President Radio Address 10/5/2002
"The Iraqi regime . . . possesses and produces chemical and biological weapons. It is seeking nuclear weapons. We know that the regime has produced thousands of tons of chemical agents, including mustard gas, sarin nerve gas, VX nerve gas . . . " George W. Bush, President Cincinnati, Ohio Speech 10/7/2002
"Our intelligence officials estimate that Saddam Hussein had the materials to produce as much as 500 tons of sarin, mustard and VX nerve agent." George W. Bush, President State of the Union Address 1/28/2003
"I think the burden is on those people who think he didn't have weapons of mass destruction to tell the world where they are. Ari Fleischer, Press Secretary Press Briefing 7/9/2003
Huh?
Yes, one single round of ordinance containing sarin gas. You'll find the same thing in the garages of some of America's most patriotic kooks too.
