Oh boy when my in-laws found out i was doing yoga. We were sent a stern letter telling me all about how EVIL it is. So I had already done my research and was ready for them. I wrote back to them . I asked them if any of them had ever sat indian style ? Uh oh you just did a yoga pose . Had any of them bent over and touched their toes? Uh OHH, yoga pose. Had any of them stretched their arms up above there heads? OH OHHH yoga pose. and on and on I went. Every type of excersise out there has basic yoga posses incorperated into it. So I told them, my class doesnt even have and meditating in it . Its all about correct breathing, and stretching and doing moves that help build up body strenght without alot of high impact jumping around. You know what they told me to do ? to read what the SOCIETY says on the matter thats where all REAL truth comes from. Good thing I wasnt bending over in a evil yoga pose at the time or I would have thrown up my lunch. LOL. You know if you went to a gym and took a class thats let say it called Stretching For Strenght or something like that, they would'nt have a problem with it, but because you call it Yoga its evil. Gotta just laugh about that don't we?

Yoga
by shopaholic ini started doing yoga regularly about 2 months ago.
i have yet to float or have an out of body experience.
but i do feel more "centered" and have greater flexibility.. anyway, yoga is not allowed as a jw.

I was visiting family down south a while back and my sister introduced me to Boiled peanuts . Oh my god they were good. We bought them from a little road side stand . When I came back up home I looked on the internet for recipes to make them myself. There are tons of web sites with recipes ,its just peanuts ,alot of salt and water. I learned that you have to use raw /green peanuts. I didnt have to crack the shells first , when they boil ,the salt water penetrated right through the shells . They taste best hot right out of the pot.

Yeah I hated it ,especially when pulling into the driveway of a person I knew from school and it was my turn to get out of the car. Oh my god how humiliating. I would pray and pray all the way to the door that know one would be home.

How are the Denim Police in your area?
by Open mind inour co will not let the no denim at bethel prohibition die.. in recent visits to nearby congos he has made it very clear that denim is not to be worn at meetings or in field circus.. if any of the "aged women" notice younger women wearing the forbidden fabric, they are to speak with them.

I remember when denim became the devils fabric. Oh boy did you get some looks of disaproval if you dared wear it . It had its own rules, if it was real heavy weight denim that was a no no, but, if it was more of a lightweight softer finish denim then you could get away with it. It was also tolerated if the skirt was a more tailored long straight style as oppossed to the more casual full flared skirt. I was such a rebel for wearing a denim skirt. Maybe I will go to the memorial with a denim skirt with smurfs printed all over it. AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

when ever i see a jw's obituary in the paper, every time at the end ,it always says contributions can be made to the watchtower society.
do the elders get right to you to get you to put that in the paper when writing up the obituary or what?

When ever I see a JW's obituary in the paper, every time at the end ,it always says contributions can be made to the Watchtower society. Do the elders get right to you to get you to put that in the paper when writing up the obituary or what? I statred thinking about my own mother who is still a Full believing witness even though she only goes occasionally. If she were to pass away I wonder if the elders would dare approach me about the whole contribution thing. She has never mentioned anything about it and she has no will. but do they try to get the living relatives to go along with the whole society contribution thing??
