You may as well ask how faithful humans are these days. Posing such a gender-specific question is no different than asking how faithful Hispanics are or how faithful people living in the state of Iowa are or how faithful redheads are. You are assuming that a group of people identified by a single trait are somehow different from the rest of humanity.

Just curious about how faithful women are these days. Anybody know?
by Alostpuppydog inso being someone who is not, however still believes around 70% of what the jw's talk about as far as the bible goes, ignoring the fact of no blood transfusions, shunning, etc.
wt doctrines, i got this question.
anybody really know how faithful 'worldly' (i use this term lightly 😉) women are these days?

Armageddon
by finnrot inwith these new disasters going on around the world, i would imagine that the jw's are going ape shit with the thought of death and destruction right around the corner.
i was smart enough to leave this cult after 1975 came and went with a whimper.
i was in my teens at the time and i vividly remember to this day the excitement all the witlesses had with the knowledge that '75 was going to be the year of armageddon!!!

Here's a morbid thought...
by Rainbow_Troll init probably will never happen but... imagine the gb recieved some new light that told them the great tribulation was imminent.
the world is going to hell and all jws can expect until armageddon is terrible persecution the likes of which no christian has ever experienced in two thousand years.
but jehovah has a solution: put yourself and your family 'to sleep' and after armageddon's over, jehovah will 'wake his people up' at the resurrection.

Have you ever known a holocaust denier? How did you feel about them?
by Esse quam videri ini sometimes did work for a lovely old couple who at times needed repairs done around their home.
my wife and myself spent time with them, having tea and crackers from time to time.
one day the husband and myself got into a conversation and he clearly showed himself to be a holocaust denier.

Find a Holocaust survivor and introduce him. I've always wanted to see a denier in that kind of situation.

JWs and taking blood
by dogon ini have a brother who works in the medical profession and in particular surgery rooms.
he had a jw woman who needed blood.
while the jw elders were there she said no blood.

Does the hospital liaison committee take it upon themselves to visit you in the hospital and talk to your doctors as soon as they hear you're sick, or do they wait for an invite? I'm guessing the first one.

Standing for the National Anthem?
by eyeslice2 inwe are currently living in a country where at the cinema the national anthem is played before the start of the movie and it is law that you stand.
does anyone know what current jw thinking is on this?
i know there has been various changes over the years.

Um, what country is this? I live in the United States and have seen several movies in the theater recently (including 2 just last weekend) and I have never once in my entire life even heard of the national anthem being played at a theater, much less been obligated by law to stand for it. I've only ever heard the anthem sung at my county fair before the start of a concert, and nobody is required to stand. Sitting may be looked down upon by some, but it sure as hell isn't illegal by any means.

JW Ideal candidates for Life Insurance?
by MNLifeAgent ini am not a jehovah's witness, although i do respect your religion entirely.
i am 27 years old, and live in minnesota.
i have an older cousin, who's mother (not with my uncle -separated when my cousin was a baby) had been a witness, grew up in your word, and about 12 years ago she fully converted.

smiddy I had a hiccup where I was a bit stumbled for a short time by people.
Sounds like you haven't entirely escaped the JW mindset because you are blaming someone other than yourself for "stumbling."
BTW why won't anyone tell me how to quote others in a post? I've asked multiple times all over this forum and no one has ever given an answer. I've tried the " button but it does nothing. -

My mother's treatment. Unreal.
by quellycatface ini disassociated myself 3 years ago but have never told my mother, as she lives quite a distance from me in the uk.
i've have told her that i no longer go to meetings, neither does my son, who is 16.. i haven't seen her for 3 1/2 years.
i offered to come visit this week but she was incredibly offhand with me and said she couldn't meet with me today as she was on the ministry!!

A Believer....... A naughty, naughty sheep....
by DATA-DOG in"a believer" seems to be our new apologist/disobedient sheep.
"a believer" ignores the "spirit-directed"/"bible-based" commands of the gb/fds!
shame on you, "a believer"!!!!

2+2=5 I love how your rude reply has so far earned you six dislikes and zero likes. Meanwhile, A Believer doesn't have a single dislike for his very polite and honest replies. That says a lot more about you than him.

Why didn't you simply tell your boss your tooth hurt and that rescheduling the appointment would cost you? You could have easily proven both of those things with a note from both your dentist and your insurance company. And your boss cannot write you up or fire you for that. If he tries, you can take him to court. And win.
