  Its amazing these people can dress themselves and somehow get to the Hall three times a week!

  Many jws I talk to have a goal of dressing them selves on time and getting to the hall 3 times a week.

  there are several reasons i am going:it is at the maine center for the arts, at my college.

  i really like this place, it would be interesting..my mother told me that i would not be shunned ("what would be the point on going?

  IN the west most MTS brothers end up were they started. There is no body to replace them. One brother was begged to serve were the need was greater and leave his parents hall he grew up in. Apparently the need was in the hall in his own territory down the street from his house. I think they are just going to use this to decide who is going to be the new co. So they just weed out any non MTS brothers.

  been thinking about what blondie said about the use of jehovah in 1 thessalonians:4 and how they try to pass the word lord of as both jesus and jehovah ........so i looked some stuff up.... i cant think why i was so convinced that the disciples used gods name.

  im willing to be convinced though.

  example of jehovah being added and lord meaning both jesus and jehovah

  I from what you seem you be explaining is how two words look simular on paper but have different history. As for the words to be too disymular to homonalogise I can't say.

  You also seems to be defending the watchtowers stance. Which I am sure they are happy about.

  I can't see what you mean "Deriving the word from a totally different Egyptian name for the sun god explains nothing." I can't see what you explained that explained more. Also your refutation is not that explicit. Maybe thats just the nature of acient history or linguistics.

  Even today mistranslation of simple things like english to spanish gives bizaar results. Perdue Farms slogan changed from "It takes a tough man to make a tender chicken" to "It takes a sexually aroused man to make a chicken affectionate" So to me it is hard for me to change my view because of lingustics when the linguistics don't directly conflict. These people steal a heck of a lot from each other no matter how monothistic they claim.

  Adonai comes from the word Adon the name which means Aton or Aten a egyptian sun god. This god was worshiped almost mono theisticaly (henotheistically) about 150 years before Moses is said to have writen the bible. Aten was said "to have no equal" he also banned representation of him out side of his symbol a sun disk. People still know how to pronouce his name.

  Jehovah is a midianite god worshiped by Moses pagan wife and inlaws. Infact she saved moses from getting killed by Jehovah.

  i know many of you who are regulars here have probably heard this before.

  a dear loved one of mine has started attending the hall.

  i need scriptural ammunition to combat this mind control....specifically on the "little flock" "great crowd" doctrines, the trinity, and jesus.

  The problem 1914 is they will say yes. THey will cite all those jws in asia, middle east, and africa that are beaten or tourtured by their families for changing to jws. And all the people at their hall whos family disowned them for become jws.

  Celebrating Birthdays--Disfellowshipping Offense--Where stated in WT pubs?

  where does it state that if a jw celebrates a brithday that it is a disfellowshipping offense.

  Minimus has wondered when the WTS receives notice of such DFings for birthday-related crimes, why they don't nullify the DFing, since it is not official policy to DF for those "crimes." I wonder the same thing. The only conclusion I can reach is CONTROL and FEAR of the membership.

  THe reason is the watchtower legally does not want to be liable for anything jw related. Every letter they write tells you to make peace with the locals because they cant help you. At most they will you a vague letter saying it is your dicision. The local cong is the highest court in the land of jwdom. The watchtower has no say for legal reasons.

  They claim they are christ "footstep followers", but if pressed they will admitt that the bible was writen for the faithful slave and that they fds are the real christians they are only b eneficiaries . I have heard somesay "we are not christians in that sense". THe UN registers JWs as a parachristian religion.

  THe problem is the JWs are not christian. THe watchtower even says that they are not christ brothers not in the covenant etc. So they believe there are only 144,000 christians period.

  Michael Jackson (JW?) attends AME Church????

  the pop star - who is a jehovah's witness - was mobbed by fans after he arrived at the first ame church and thanked some children for their support.. .

  jackson's attorney, mesereau attended the morning service along with his famous client who was introduced to the congregation.. .

  following the service, jackson walked to a nearby sunday school classroom to thank some children for sending him letters of support.. .

  THe problem is MJ says he is a JW. Most people dont know the watchtower "we decide if you are a JW or not" policy. So if Jackson's press people says he is a JW the media does not know to check if the watchtower thinks he is.

  I mean John Kerry says he is a catholic and look what problems he is having.
