Um he is in South Africa give him a break. The Watchtower is the better than anything they have there. Maybe that?s why strife filled nations grow so fast. Places with excess freedom, or stability tend to see the watchtower as a negative thing, but else where the WTS is a liberal group of forward thinkers giving away free clean buildings called Kingdom Hall?s. I know South Africa is not Pakistan, but it is no France.

Gospel of John - Why no Emblems, no Bread and Wine?
by Greenpalmtreestillmine insince today is the memorial i thought it would be a good time to ask this quesion: why is it that the gospel of john does not include the passing of the bread and wine representing jesus' blood and flesh?
of all the gospels, john's goes into the greatest detail of jesus' last evening with his disciples yet he omits the passing of the covenant emblems.
and of all the gospels you would think john's would include that since his is filled with more symbolic and mystery material than the rest.

Amen. People need to basicaly treat the bible as what it is a book writen by ancient men that knew very little about anything, and may have not even have been writen by the bible characters themselves. The names of the writers were not added until much later BTW so John may not be by John and let lone be apostle John or John of Patmos writer of Revalations.

Why are people surprised that they are part of a thought control regiment when every week you get lectures on the most effective techniques to brainwash your selves and others? It is like a Navy Seal finishing training and then realizing at the end "Hey wait? they were training us to kill people!"

4JWY I will admit first hand I may be a sociopath. What is your problem being in a cult? Are all JWs so dumb they don't know it is a cult? Do you people own dictionaries?
That off my chest there is nothing wrong with using mind control technology with in bounds of the law. What you don't understand is the governments of the world employ the same technology. In America the government is relatively inert, but in other lands you have compulsory military service. The military is worse than the watchtower ever will be. You are naive to think that thought control is limited to religion. It is just a stimulus to get a response.
I think the anti-cult movement is silly. It shows that people are not living in the real world. They actually believe that they have rights and freedoms (the results of mind control). In reality they are renting them. As soon as they can't pay the price their freedoms will be taken from them. It is not an anarchy (yet) people you still are under the yoke of the respective powers that be. The Watchtower is vying for position as one of them. The only question left is why deny them the privilege?

Anyone notice that in real life (really happened instead of what the churches teach happened) most of this stuff was made up after the fact by adding to the bible. How competent is the Holy Spirit to allow so much "apostasy" in a relatively short time? Instead of these cults breaking off from a core group as the churches claim each congregation had its own understanding to begin with. I wonder how can people defend the Christianity, and attack the Watchtowers doctrine when both are just as fabricated. How can one fabrication be holy and the other unholy when both came about from the same methods, and when the watchtowers seems a lil more s crupulous ?

Have any of you ever addressed the society re: jw's who are 'news worthy'?
by orbison11 inthis has bothered me for a while now, maybe due to there being a few high profile poeple who are/will be/were jw's.. my x was a professional musician when we became jw's.
he was advised, i don't know how may times, to basically get out of the profession, etc.
to a point when he would on occasion do a wedding as a gift, his songs were written down and scruitinized by the elders, blah.

Don't forget the Wayans family they ghost the assemblies here like the Jacksons used to. I believe there is a subculture of rich and famous JWs that run the specturm in standing from Dewight Eisenhower to Ronny Laws. Oh and don't forget the late "Easy E" Eric Wright. I would give more information about him, but then people would know what hall I go to. Snoop dog I don't think was a witness but some of his relatives are. There are lots of suposedly ex-jws that are famous since few of them leave due to docterinal issues they tend to come back in between gigs and the brothers tend to welcome them back with little effort.

Okay this years talk was basicaly a "DON'T EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING OR YOU"LL INCURE THE WRATH OF GOD!" disclaimer. My book study conductors study must have been sleep cuz he was pissed when they made him pass the bread then he didnt want to touch the wine, and ran out of the hall.
Then the talk took off in a weird direction. "Some think attending the memorial once a year is enough." you think the next words would be definative damnation for all that don't attand regular meetings. MUHAHHAHA! Well too bad it was not. "Spritual food like physical food is more beneficial when there is variety. You come here each year and hear the same old talk and the same old scriptures. How much more so would you benefit from being upbuilt by a vareity of spiritual food." Then he broke down the weekly meeting schedule. Uh more the watchtower knows it is inert. Basicaly the memorial is the only required meeting! LOL. They know it and yet 6 million people have not caught on. The presentation was too smooth for the borther to have made it up himself. Is this more NIGHT VISION (new light 2.0)?
