The Governing Body

do you think the top men (the governing body) of the wts really believe they are proclaiming the truth??

or do you think some of them know the wts is a bunch of bunk.....and just don't care??.

I believe they think it is the truth because they see all the rewards few JWs see. The best JWs in the world work with them. Since everyone is on their toes when the GB comes every serious problem vanishes with minimal effort. When a GB has to wait on Jehovah they don?t have to wait long. Thirty minutes or your miracle is free. If you were a GB you would think it was the true religion. It is like if you were pope wouldn't you think Catholics are the best people on earth? Every time you come around they are happy to see you, God fearing, humble, chaste?

I think the stagnation is because the WTS is an auto indoctrinating machine lead by the GC. The RF does more edict spouting than the GB any day of the week. One string is pulled by tradition, the other by pride, the other by the legal dpt, and the rest of the new light comes from the RF writers seeing Jurassic park and print dinosaurs roamed the earth 65 billion years ago (osmosis, hence all the "bans" on entertainment and higher learning). In fact the RF are infiltrating the GB Sam Herd is a great example of this.

Nobody passed anything to Russell the WTS said those two weeks ago. The FDS a FDS regardless of who teaches them which is funny, but it is a watertight rationalization. It also mean you don?t need the WTS spiritual food because it does not matter where you get it. The funny thing for thinking people is how the WTS will further weaken its position with each revision and the RF ignores it. To a point in this later revision the great crowd is sort of ?chillin? with the watchtower and not really connected.

I love all this new history BTW. It is what comic book writers do. After a series goes a long time they have to recon it to cover up plot hole or make the old characters more marketable.

Did anyone notice how this takes the burden off of "Christendom" and puts the anonymous and ubiquitous "evil slave" in the cross hairs? So theoretically a member of Christendom is not as bad as an anointed "evil slave" that burdens the watchtower with asking for "oil".

The JW Effect ? Lack of life planning

I think you guys are half right, but biased. I know some of JWs 50's-60's that basically went to college came out and financially secure. I believe that the WTS was biased on its college ?ban? back then. To be a lawyer or accountant (something the WTS desperately needed) nobody cared cause you were "taking one for the team" so all these people are mostly lawyers. If you wanted to be a DR you were a faithless atheist until the blood wars of the 80's. Now that the WTS needs engineers and technicians? well you get the idea. Anyone notice how the WTS does not knock spending years learning to be a constuction worker who never goes out in feild services, but spends every free weeking build halls?

I think what you guys fail to realize is JW education is like the managed economies of the soviet block. What ever service the WTS needs for free they will dump a plethora of encouragement for "skilled" brothers and sisters to buy out the opportune time and work for bethel or KSS.

I think mostly blue collar JWs never worried about their futures, but even they did okay if they acted like they had a brain. I am sorry you feel cheated, but the only thing I saw is people that didn't want to go to college (mostly young men) that would have bit the bullet, and went anyway did not because they decided to buy the hype. Most of the women that where not exceptionally endowed enough to wrestle an old rich elder to Shulamite Maiden had to hit the books, or settle for house wife.

Anyone that knows about 1975 should have no excuse for flying by the seat of their pants with out planning their lives. I think it is human nature to pipe dream if your life sucks. People who are JWs have the best pipe dream in the world. So while other people would just commit suicide, hit the bottle, or actually better themselves JWs can spend 50 years in the Matrix putting the kingdom first. I don?t think that?s the watchtowers fault. It is just human nature. In the middle age when life was crap many people became monks or nuns as a way out. Now that life is better there are fewer people interested in it, and ?wasting your life? for an invisible friend.

does anyone know where i can get the court transcripts of russell's divorce case, or other info about frauds he committed or his freemasonry connections?.

isn't it a joke that god chose a man of such a dubious record to be his representative on earth?

I wish I had the quote but Sam Herd said the GB don't care about the number and won't take any actions to increase it. I assume the massive the down sizeing of the WTS makes it where unlike other religions as long as there are enought adheirents to run the presses they down need the JW religion.

But I agree with you. So does the GB for some reason the org is on autopilot. If you read the literature and press releases they have no "authority" they deny every thing that gives them "power" oddly they say we should listen to them anyway. I can't wrap my brain around that one. I just go to the hall cuz its a church. As for pets just resurrect them. If you can bring people back to life that don?t deserve it why not waive your hand and bring back your dog.

The reason is JW are gnostics with a few new ideas. They think the Jesus that raised was a ghost. So making gore appear (curcifixion marks) makes sense if you think of it in the context of a haunting.

I think the Russelites follow Russell. JWs I think follow Rutherford. If you look at the history. There was a break.
