THat should be a tread. On wensdays nights entire meetings had to be conducted on the A school and have the elders give every part. Right now seems to be that such a change would be a flag of how the faith is dying. It would take new light. Sorta like the new light that the governing body is not a corporation and that the great crowd can run the entire watchtower iwth out their input.

for the society to continue any form of credibility with it's followers it will have to change it's understanding of who can lead the organization, in other words, who can become members of the governing body.

i dont understand the term "marking"
by in a new york bethel minute ini was raised a jdub, was with it until last year... i know everything there is to know about it, i preached it and lived it for 24 years.
but i have never heard of the act of "marking" an individual until i joined this site.
i understand the idea of it, but i dont understand what is involved... what exactly happens when someone is marked?

I think marking depends on the area. If your hall is so bad for something like drinking nobody will be marked for drinking. THey may mark you for expensive clothes. That is until someone is DFed cuz they got drunk as did something bad then there is a giant local needs part on the dangers of over drinking.
It could also be lack of recomendation for a position. You will never know a person was marked unless a position comes up and the edlers turn them down. Like one elder allows his kids to listen to rap. His daughter (a pioneer) wanted to go to bethel. He said he could not recomend her because she listend to rap, and two disqualifications on the form are rap and heavy metal. So it is okay to listen to rap, throw and attend parties with lots of rap music, but he can't recomend her unless she gives up rap. Silly eh.

Dating a JW when you are not

i attend a nondenominational church.
i found out from a mutual friend of ours, two months after my boyfriend and i had met, that he was a jw.

The guy sounds like a jerk. THere is no such thing as a "non practicing jw".
Note there are jws with fortitude and jws that are very liberal and tolerant. HE IS NOT ONE OF THOSE!
He is a weasel. He does not want the hassel of being a full time jw and he is not "spiritualy mature" enought to stand on his own two feet. He wants bronies points for pissing you off and depressing you while he warps and twist the beliefs of the jw faith to how he sees fit. Think of it JWs are encouraged to date only jws (this is good advice all things considered). He sees that it not only fine to decide to date you but consider kids with you. ALso he married a non JW before. And she has the costody of the kids.
I see him as a serial offender. He knows JWs have adimantine beliefs he also knows that marring a non jw can cause problems, he also knows that getting a divorce and taking care of the kids, while being celebate is not his style. So he will marry you when the situation gets bad youll take the kids. Because you are divorced you start dating again then he can remarry. I say dump him. He should be going to your birthday. JWs can they just don't because it may make them look bad. He just does not want to "buy the cow". He would rather get brownie points.
If you like JW men find one that stands for something and will go to you birth day. Not a "non practicing" weassel that won't.
No offense if I mis-characterized him, but he is not a "strong enought" jw to marry you. He is just a pooser that really doesn't care about you or is own religion that much.

Yep gary. Then in the worship book(2002) they changed it to any annointed at the headquarters. THey are another brand name like the FDS. THe watchtower does not have to change any doctrine for the future. THey have got ride of 1935 and that the GB actually runs the watchtower. Nothing more is needed all they need is a few halos to ask what color to put the watchtower superscript in each month. Oh wait they already have a dpt for that.

GDT there have been murders solved solely from the repressed memories of adults that witnessed them as children. In which the witness know the location of the body, or the identity of the murder. Memory is a fallible filing system. You can forget some something no matter how dramatic. Maybe you should try to find proof that humans can't forget.

Has anyone notice the blatant generalities in this article. The "christians", the "righteous", the "wicked", and the "sinners".I notice this is a very non specific article. One day the jws are not going to recognized their stuff from those other hellfire churches.

virgin birth in Matt and Luke?
by peacefulpete inrobert price (incredible shrinking son of man) has alerted me to an interesting possibility that matt and luke (that is, the original authors) may not have intended that jesus had a miraculous conception.
mark never gives any hint that he was aware of any birth tradition surrounding his jesus, matt and luke have generally been considered the first to incorporate this element into the legend.
however price and jane schaberg (baba pg.116) have reexamined the texts and come to a different conclusion.

The Watchtower vs The Clock - where are they headed?
by truthseeker inafter reading janh's 1914 generation post (under the best of section), i was impressed by the amount of research he had put in.
one thing that sticks out while reading it, however, is the sneaky way the watchtower kept extending the length of a generation every few years.. all those oldies who've been around for decades, patiently waiting on jehovah and the society for that long promised paradise are already passing away.
metaphorically speaking, their "spiritual tongue" is longing for that drip of cold crystal clear water from the rivers of paradise.

TD the greatcrowd died in the 1995 change too. Now it is anyone that survives the end. It is not connected specifically to a group of JWs anymore. Which is also weird because that means those that became jws a died totally wasted their time. It is only the generation of people that actually see armageddon (not the tribulation) that actually benefit from there JWness. And if you are not anointed you still wont be protected according to the wts.
