Do you think of yourself as an apostate
by barbar inmany of the people on this site say that they are apostates.
but that is not the way i feel about myself.. i am not angry with the "witnesses" or the organisation, i don't feel that i wasted my life.
i just think that i was stupid to believe it for 30 years (well sort of believe it, i did have severe doubts on and off).

Apostate is just another label that the organization has dreamed up to further alienate ones who turn away from their beliefs, in order to scare other believing ones away from any of their influence. When I was involved in the organization, and they talked of apostates, you pictured evil and dark inviduals who are out to ruin your life, Now I see that "apostates" are just average nice ppl who want to live their lives they way they think best and serve God without the organization telling them how. As for trying to change the views of a believing JW, I don't think it is my place. If they ask my views , I will tell them. If they want to seek further and have more questions, they can search and come to their own conclusions as my husband and I did.

Kingdom Hall Annex Fire
by Kenneson inthe killeen, texas kingdom hall was vandalized last month and an annex building set on fire last week.
someone apparently doesn't like jehovah's witnesses.
but they are expressing their anger in the wrong way and sooner or later it will get them in deep trouble.

I'm wondering why Jehovah didn't protect his Kingdom Hall from the "wicked ones".After all, they are his chosen ppl....

The same thing happened with my in-laws. A wealthy brother who made his money building houses was building a house up the street from my in-laws. It was quite the mansion too. Anyways, my father-in-law took my husband up the street to show him the work they were doing on the house and introduced him to this brother and others that were there, Later, after we had left , these brothers came to lecture my father-in-law on how he shouldn't be associating with us. He thought it was amusing really, He said he would never stop talking to any of his children. Funny this advice coming from a brother who was building a fancy house and accumulating wealth in "this old system" of things. Your mother-in -law is a very wise and loving woman :)

hmmmm.. well its like how my mother-in-law always said ..everytime the organization would change their mind about something..... she said it was new truths revealed... now we can do this.. now we can that.. like she had just won some big contest or something...total brainwashing that Jehovah feeds "new truths" as he sees it will "strength his organization"...blaaaaaaaaaaaaa..blaaaaaa.blaaaaaa

Thanks Dogpatch for posting the url for Barbra Anderson!! It was informative and its good to know that someone from inside the org who knows how they operate, will expose them for the big phonies that they are, They are no better than the other religions that they call "evil". At least the other religions involved in child abuse are acknowledging they have some serious issues. The JWS org try to brush everything under the rug and claim persecustion

Memories of my judicial committee meeting....
by kitties_and_horses_oh_my! inyou know, i was reading one of the posts about how dubs rat each other out - and good god, i was excellent at that, i even frickin ratted myself out, sad really!
it brought to mind my judicial committee meeting: .

Hi kitties, I sympathize with you and give you kuddos for facing the firing squad. I went thru a similar experience. It is not heartwarming or inspiring or spiritually enlighting in any way. Its a shame that these men are put in the postion of spiritual leaders and shepards and they have had no real training or guidance on how to empathize and help others deal with difficult situations. That is one of many reasons why I left. Happiest day of my life when I broke free...

What would have to change for you to come back?
by _Atlas into those who have conscientiously walked away:.
what changes will at least make you consider coming back in?.

There is no point in turning to any organized religion. They all control you in some way by their different doctrines. I choose to believe in God or not and believe it is every other person's perrogative to believe or not. Its not my business or concern what they believe. I enjoy having the freedom to choose my way in life and also my children are free to live or believe as they choose. That is what drives the human spirit. The organization stiffles all the joy and desire in life- all things that were created for our enjoyment in life by others who not JWS.

The half time show was spectacular. I love watching Paul McCartney perform . His performance surrounded by fireworks was true decandence, but it was so great. I wanted the Eagles to win, just because they were the underdog in the game.
