Yes.. sometimes it seems easier to persuade some people to believe foolishness than to believe rational thinking. To the point where they are afraid to reason and believe what seems true to themselves, ITs amazing this woman was afraid to read something that made her think indepentdently.This just proves to me more and more that the JW org is a cult.

Is the average JW as brain dead as this poor woman?
by Honesty ini actually stopped replying to certain sections of this website awhile ago now, i felt it was starting to get to me, certain comments that were made were making me think and i actually had to shake my head and snap myself out of it.
what i did was remove myself from here altogether for a few weeks and i only came back last week to inform everyone of my baptism decision, i have still not even read anything in certain areas of this website, but yes most definitely has sunday's watchtower lesson put all of that into perspective for me.
we do have to be very careful indeed of what or who we let into our lives, for if we do it can be extremely damaging consequences if we start to believe what we read.

Thanks Blondie.. your posts are always interesting and enlightning .Thanks for all your research and time..Makes me wonder,, how do they keep writing and re-writing all these doctrines and beliefs...Even they must have a hard time keeping up with all the changes and back-tracking.. Good thing they have this website to check on so they can keep up with all their changes!!!

EAGLE-1.. In your post you said your parents were great until they became JWS and then it was like they were dead.. I can really relate to that.. I try to block out a lot of my childhood, some parts not so great..
But before my mother became a very stanch JW, she gave us amazing birthdays,, Christmas, and they always had a abig Halloween party for all the kids on the block..And my parent were happy. My Dad was opposed to the day he died.So that didn't help.But,, it was like the life was sucked out of my mother,, now when I really remember, and the whole world revolved around the new system and the "friends" ..Very robotic.. (shiverrrr) I am happy to hear that the corp of JWS is decreasing.. and may it just decrease more and more with each passing year

On our street here a local Baptist Faith red bus comes every weekend to take children and youths to Sunday School. They called at our house to see if we had any young people who would like to attend and they would pick them up and then drive them home.. They are showing an interest in young ones and trying to cultivate a love of worshipping God in the youth. Which is more than you can say about JWS. You have to find your own way to meetings. They don't worry about organizing for others who don't have their own way there.

Both my husband and I felt unhappy during our witness years. My husband said he always felt like something was missing. The day our "Dissasociation" from the borg was official.. we felt like a big weight had been taken our of our lives. and we were free to make choices we couldn't have before.

i'm getting old, i guess, and maybe alzheimer's is starting in, but i have lost my vision, my understanding, my assurity if you will.

I really am not interested in a God that demands to be worshipped just because he created us. It makes life pointless and meaningless to me.Before when I believed in God or some higher power, I was always worried about offending him or not praying right or some other pointless way of thinking.
Now I know I am only responsible for myself and respecting the rights of others.. life is much simpler , clearer , easier to understand...I actually feel much happier. If God created us just to worship him.. sorry I am not interested.. If he wants to kill me for my outlook.. guess I can't stop him.. but I am sure enjoying my life a whole lot more..

The JWs, a petty minded and ungrateful lot
by greendawn inthe jws are being grossly unfair and unrealistic when they say that they owe nothing to the rest of world, for example many ppl had to die in order to defeat fascism and they the jws were certainly spared much grief by the defeat of such dictatorial and ruthless powers.
democratic governments are very civilised in their behaviour towards the jws perhaps too civilised.
but they will never once admit it.

IT always bothered me when my father-in-law sat in his comfy chair wearing his slippers , sipping on whiskey and he would go on about what war mongers the Americans are,, especially Bush.. My husband would tell him..how do you think you are living here in comfort in a warm clean house.. It is because others went to fight for you..Its true.. The JWs love to enjoy all the freedoms people fought and died for and then they condem them for it at the same time.. they are too smug...

our state lotto started today, and i won 15 dollars, and only bought 1 $1 card.
so whoop whoop for gambling.. i was in miami florida last week for the photoshop world conference, but i also got to tour the everglades, where i took some beautiful pictures.
