I always counted only what I felt was "real" ministry work. I was rather stupid that way. I resisted all the methods of padding hours. Once I quit believing in it, I quit wasting my time.

i always hated the shepherding call where they asked you to try and spend more time in field service, as they saw your hours turned in were low.
at a young age, i learned how easy it was to just write down what ever felt right.
i spent about 30 hours a month in field service as a pioneer for two years and never had anyone say anything to me.

i'm staying with my brother, he has a great library of the publications, as does my dad.
what should i look for besides the jan 1 1989 wt and corresponding bound volume?.
I found my photocopy. June 15, 1952 Watchtower, Questions from Readers, "Why does not the Watchtower Society publish simplified material for parents to use in teaching their children Bible truths?
yes, 9 years.
we have chatted once and emailed a few times,,,,,, well last night he emailed me and wants to meet this weekend,,he is almost 25,,,. we are about an hours drive apart and will meet in the middle, i am so afraid to damage the meeting,,,i want so much for it to go well,,,, he is no longer a jw (thank goodness) and hasnt been for many years now if the other 3 would only come around.

Good luck. I hope everything goes well and the two of you get a relationship back. Just remember that Rome wasn't built in a day.

There's a "Question from the Readers" on why the Society doesn't put out a children's bible story book. It's not a very important point, but rather fun to read their pompous and adamant reasons on why it wouldn't be a proper thing to do. I have a photocopy of it somewhere. I can't remember the date off hand, though.

so i have my first gig with my new band tomorrow night....at college they kind of throw us together and tell us to come up with something...last term..(some of you might remember)..on gig night the drummer didnt show up, the guitarist got absolutely blotto and just sat on stage wondering what was going on, and the bassist couldnt tune her bass......but i had fun.
anyway im hoping it goes better this time...wish me luck..(oh no the 'l' word).
im off to bed now
Good luck, Tijkmo. I hope everything goes smoothly and you have fun. What instrument do you play? You've probably mentioned it before, but I can't recall.

in another topic on the recent education issue of the watchtower society, this question came up.
below is what i wrote on that topic.
i was wondering if anyone else remembered this?.
Gee, I wonder why the "friends" would have a problem with that? Don't you just love the double standards?

i don't know if this is true all over the country, but here they are having the elders' school this coming weekend.
i was wondering if there is anybody here who will be going.
if so, i hope we will be getting the scoop afterwards...........
Diogenes, what were some of the changes in the Elders' book?

a few months back i remembered a newbie asked in this forum what would it take for a current witness to "go over the edge".
in other words what would it take, personally as a witness, to stop going to meetings or to just quit being a jw?
what would you have to learn or see?
Welcome to JWD (or should I say, to posting on JWD), Nestleboy.
They're going to have to start disfellowshipping to get rid of the "anointed". Many partakers are quite young. I know that the younger ones aren't generally considered genuine. But they're still there, and as far as I can see they make up the majority of the 8000 count. It's an urban myth that they're all old and ready to die.
And as far as them coming up with a "good spin", they're masters at covering over their mistakes. Their audience is very receptive to their "spins", because, like yourself, they want to believe.
I don't believe there is one point that would drive people out of the WTS. For everyone it's something different that finally breaks through the fog.
