Last night, at about 10pm, my husband came in the house and said, "You should hear the wolves!" Of course, I immediately said, "wolves? Or do you mean coyotes?" We used to hear the coyotes all the time until a few more houses were built in the neighbourhood. He was adamant that they were timber wolves, not coyotes. So I bundled up and went outside with him to hear for myself. It was quite the night, the moon was so bright that it was almost as bright as a dull day. The frost was sparkling in the air, the temperature was about -36C plus windchill. So it's a good thing that I didn't have to wait very long to hear the wolves! It was a very eerie feeling to be standing in our back yard, in the moonlight and listen to a couple of wolves howling. They were awfully close. Now I'm wondering if it's their tracks I've been seeing in the driveway. I've just assumed that a neighbour had a dog running loose. I'll have to study the tracks a little more carefully to see if they are wolf tracks.

Were you religious BEFORE becoming a JW?
by LittleToe inon another thread by restrangled i posted the following:.
i'm really interested by the stories of those who were seduced into the jws.
to what extent they were religious before they became jws?

I was not a religious person, but I was curious about the Bible. However, all the Churches I ever went to repulsed me. (Catholic, United and Anglican). The others repulsed me before I even stepped foot in the Church.

He also, apparently, believed that Lot's wife turned to a pillar of salt for looking back.
Jesus seems to have a record similar to the WTS for prophecies coming true.

Did Adam really Rebel?
by zack inthe wts teaches that adam's sin was rebellion against his creator.
it seems that all adam did was make a choice.
if he ate of the tree he would die.

But it wouldn't have been a yellow banana as we know them. As that is a fairly recent product.

Is Jesus becoming less relevant - even to Christians?
by nicolaou inone thing many jw's could do was quote jesus, although whether or not they lived up to the so-called 'christian ideal' is questioned by most of us.
conversely, many others who call themselves christians are much nicer people!
they love, they are generous, charitable and willing to give - but they are unlikely to be as familiar as we are with the details of jesus life and ministry as recorded in the bible.. i don't have a problem with that, it's what people do that matters!.

I think Jesus will become less relevant as more people begin to realize that the Adam and Eve story is a myth. You don't need a "ransom sacrifice" if there's no original sin.
