Well, I'm heading off-line. It's getting late here in "Bhutan". Goodnight!

and i am in my office by myself.
the person that we hired just faxed over a letter letting us know that she will no longer be working for us (and can we please mail her her paycheck?).
it is a slow day, and i have nothing to do and none to talk to.

Till 8? Wow. Long day to have nothing to do. If you were still a Dub you could be making wise use of your time. You could be prestudying your Watchtower, book for bookstudy or preparing a talk.
I remember after I gave my first talk. I was groaning about the stress of it all and a sister said, "But doesn't it feel good when it's all over?" I said, "Yes, like beating your head against a brick wall. It feels good when you stop." She didn't quite know what to say to that.

i have finally started to read captive hearts, captive minds.. they say something that got me to thinking.. i used to feel embarassed to tell non-jws that i was a jw.
it was one thing to tell people at the doors.
it was totally another thing to tell other people.
I was usually not embarassed to be known as a JW when I was one. Being in a restaurant full of JWs was the exception.
Since leaving, I prefer not to identify myself with them. Not that the world knows very much about them. Last night we were at a music practise and the subject of housecleaners came up. One of the musicians said, "----- (local Dub), cleans for me. She usually works with ---(another local Dub). When there's extra cleaning to be done she shows up with a whole bunch of Mennonites and they get the job done in a hurry." She knew that her cleaner was religious, but got the religion mixed up. And this is a small area. I would've corrected her, but then I would have had to explain how I knew what their religion was.

Miss Peaches, too funny! Or, maybe it wasn't to you? I get agitated in crowds also. Like you, especially when people are milling around.
Are we amusing you Lola?

That's really awful, MissPeaches. My husband has a phobia about dead birds. Guess who gets the job of bird undertaker.
