  i just read another topic about cos and it got me thinking .

  almost every single co's wife was sick and terribly unhappy.

  i remember listening to them complain about not having a home, not having children, the accomodations of the friends, etc.

  Yes, I've known at least one that was happy, or at least was a good pretender. They were very near retirement at that time.

  The whitetail deer population has spread and prospered because of humans. To the extent that they are a serious menace in some areas. I'd like to put the deer that are eating my apple trees in my freezer.
  
  By the way, Sam. The best tasting deer I ever ate was also trophy size. And if you're going to spout gun control to prevent "accidents" then you really should be talking about restricted motorized vehicle ownership also. Not to mention knives, axes, baseball bats, etc.

  i left the "truth" about 6 years ago and like many i still feel guilty about it.

  my older brother lives in dominican republic, he moved there about 12 years ago to help where the need is greater.

  good morning and "happy saturday" everyone!!.

  i've noticed recently alot of discussion on b-days.

  i just posted this on another thread, but then thought it deserves its own thread so more may benefit by reading it.. some time ago my mom told me about a entire town that was murdered as a wedding presents by a pharoh for his daughter who married king solomon.

  The JWs in this area (and I hear in other areas) seem to have the custom of sitting down to turkey dinner with family and friends on December 25. I imagine they have the same excuse as for Thanksgiving. It seems to be all right if everyone present is JW, just can't do it with any worldly relatives.

  In my experience the Bible has little impact on JWs, if it's not in the Watchtower then it's suspect. In "Crisis of Conscience" Ray Franz describes his attempt to defend himself using scriptures. To no avail.
  
  But, you never know until you try. It was the contrast between the Bible and the Watchtower that had an impact on me.

  They obviously know that you WANT to get kicked out. They're a perverse group, if they kicked you out then you win. If you didn't want it, then they would throw you out so fast your head would spin.

  Kingdom Melody Jam Session

  top memory: my childhood congregation was very musical; lots of people played.

  a few times we'd have a jam session where this guy would dig out some pretty standard sixties rock, lead with the piano and we'd follow along (me transposing up on the clarinet...).

  he was this sweetest guy, he used to mimic kermit the frog singing the rainbow song perfectly.

  Sass, that sounds like one of the examples given for going to "canned music". LOL
  
  These days we regularly indulge in musical jam sessions. Complete with snacks, wine and good company. And not a Kingdom Melody in sight.
