This morning we saw a pair of JW women in service. Nothing remarkable except that one of them was wearing pants. It wasn't even a cold day!

Amazing encounter
by Cellist inthis mink showed up and decided that we should share our fish with it.
it wasn't in the mood to wait.
it marched right up and grabbed the biggest fish on the stringer.

Sad emo, That makes sense. Whoever released the mink from the farms was extremely irresponsible. Bad plan. We had a neighbour who released their tame rabbits. Over 30 of the furry beasts. Cute, but completely destructive. Thank god for predators.

Thanks everyone.
Sad Emo, I'm surprised that they're interfering with otters. Our otters are much bigger than mink.
Burger Time, I used to have a mink collar. It belonged to my Grandmother. It wouldn't raise many eyebrows around here. It's very much a fishing, hunting and trapping community.

Fading? What's up?
by arker ini was a jw, finally saw my chance and wrote a letter to the elders saying how bad i am and how i don't want to meet to discuss it and to df me if you want.
that was the end of it for me.
my question is if you know you are "fading" you are already gone so why not make the leap?

Well, we call ourselves faders, but we didn't do the long slow fade. We simply quit. We did it the way we did because our source of income at the time was connected to JWs and also because of an elderly relative.

Some pictures from a recent trip
by Bumble Bee ini recently visited an old growth forest.
something i've always wanted to do.
this was a 120 acre tract of forest never touched by man.

BB, great pictures. It's taking me a while to see them with my slow connection, but definitely worth the wait. I just recently started using a digital camera too. I still prefer my SLR, but maybe I just need to save up and buy a better digital. The pictures I took on our last boat ride were alright, but not as good as what I would have got with my old camera. Yours look good though.
Thanks for sharing with us.

Smell like a jock strap or like a perfumed girl? Shower Soap ?...
by Little Drummer Boy inon the strength that my recent post concerning cheetos went to 3 pages and was referenced in at least 3 other threads, i feel that the time has come to discuss another most important topic: shower soap.. this thread topic most definitely falls under the category of intellectual starvation topics, so you should be forewarned that terry will not approve.
heh...(just funnin' yah terry).
to the point: i here refer to a liquid soap meant to be applied to a wet shower poof and then scrubbed onto the skin.

We never use liquid soaps, they put stuff in it to keep it from growing mildew (or something like that) and we're sensitive to it. We use locally made bar soap. Goat's milk or olive oil based. Two of our favourites are "Zesty Lemon" and "Beer Suds".

I think you would only get them in the fur coat version.

This mink showed up and decided that we should share our fish with it. It wasn't in the mood to wait. It marched right up and grabbed the biggest fish on the stringer. Fortunately for us, it was still on the stringer. After a brief tug-of-war, the mink contented itself to wait for what we agreed to share. It was hard to get pictures because it never held still and it was right under our feet most of the time.
