my understanding of the "big snooze" is that the essay maintains that jws have misrepresented quotes from secular sources.

is this message board not an obvious misrepresentation?

it claims to represent jehovahs witnesses (in its title)yet the vast majority of posters are anti jw and many have been expelled.

if i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?

Bedridden morbidly obese people

every now and then i see a news article about a 600 pound man or woman who is so fat they are bedridden and cannot get out of bed.

they normally need a family member to clean them on a regular basis and feed them.

i once saw an article about a man whos skin had literally bonded with the fabric upholstery of his couch and needed to have to fabric surgically removed.. ive been sitting here wondering.

Okay: Who is Barb & What's the "news"?

i know no one really knows what the content of the "news" is, but i don't even know what news you guys are waiting for.

i've been reading some posts referencing "barb" and "the news," so i wasn't wondering if someone could give me some background (i've looked a few pages back and can't find anything).. thanks.

two thoughts:

1) In California, an adult is required by law to report any SUSPICION of sexual abuse of a child to law enforcement. Failure to do so is a criminal offense.

This has been the law for many years; the first version i have is from 1975.

The law applies to any adult.

2) POLICY is what you DO, not what you SAY you do.

Higher Education

hello all...just cant stay away from you...hehe .

at our recent co visit, at the elder/ms meeting where co goes over a branch approved outline with us he spent 10 min on the subheading "avoid snares of pursuing higher education"...something like that, my notes are at home but you get the gist.

he essentially spent the time bashing university education citing among other things that a full 30% that go to college dont find employment in the field that they studied in.
