What you pointed out is probably true. Sadly, there are probably many misguided JWs who think this is persecution. But, how DARE anybody think this is persecution!
True.. but maybe new light will be received.. and kids will be better protected..

IMO, they aren't appealing because, on this issue, they won't win.

Guys, it is not a slam dunk, they do NOT have to provide documents that relate to the child abuse teleforms or the survey information provided because it is deemed privileged! Actually, the ruling gives us everything we need. This is a big ruling for JW abuse survivors, likely to create precedent in other states where cases are filed. Other recent rulings on this same issue were appealed to the court of appeals and the California supreme court, who ruled against WTS. I will see if i can get these in one PDF packet for a thread re these issues in one spot, but I'm not particularly good at the tech aspect. As to the earlier rulings on the same issues, it is my understanding that WTS has decided not to appeal to U.S. Supreme Court. We're still looking at patterns showing WTS practice of cover-up in these circumstances. If you know of circumstances of cover-up, please email me at the address below. Kimberlee D. Anyone molested by Chris Mckenzie in Oregon or Alaska please reply.
by avishai inthis man molested at least 50 kids, many of them jw's in the early to mid 80's some in alaska in the early 90's.

Five years posting!
by LittleToe init doesn't seem two minutes since i first joined this site.
on the other hand it feels like i've been here forever, accumulating about 15,000 posts in the process.. it was a wednesday (12 september 2001) on a small island off the west coast of scotland .
in recent months i had experienced a spiritual awakening of such proportions that it caused me to question one after another of the beliefs that i'd been raised with as a jw.

Two thoughts:
1: The only thing worse than NO policy (to protect children) is policy that is NOT FOLLOWED.
2: 'Policy' is what you DO, not what you SAY you do..
