hehe... interesting coincidence... I've never read anything on that 2012 site before, but my independant viewpoint seems to match their thinking, as far as what will happen goes.

In Mayan mythology each Long Count cycle is a world age in which the gods attempt to create pious and subservient creatures.
The First Age began with the creation of the Earth, and it had upon it vegetation and living beings. Unfortunately, because they lacked speech, the birds and animals were unable to pay homage to the gods and were destroyed. In the Second and Third Ages the gods created humans of mud and then wood, but these also failed to please and were wiped out. We are currently in the Fourth and Final Age, the age of the modern, fully functional human. Is it possible that these Ages referred to evolutionary change? If they did, then what might occur when the current age finishes on December 21, 2012?

Maybe food for thought.

Kudra... I have studied research on the paranormal for about 2 years now, and from your post, I can see you have done no research whatsoever. Also, I doubt you have ever had a truly paranormal experience (too much "I'll believe it when I see it" attitude in the world) yourself. Admittedly, the hypnopompic and hypnogogic paralyzation you just described is a completely physical phenomenon, but please don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

There is much research being done on the paranormal (or the closely related supernatural), and it is becoming quite obvious that there is much more to it than most scientists would like us to believe. Just think... one single experiment has recently shattered parts of the theory of relativity that scientists hold so dear (I'll get references if you would like), what next? The scientists with a vested interest in the materially-based philosophy of Western science obviously try to disregard the data provided, as it would hurt their wallets.

I don't mean to digress from the thread, but Kudra, please do a little research before you tell the original poster that it's all in his head. It sounds from the original post that Steve has ruled out other possibilities.

Anyhow, now that is over with... Steve, I agree with the prevailing opinion that you need to communicate with this spirit. You can do it verbally or mentally. Put the thoughts and your energy out there, and see what comes back. I cleared one location of a "lost soul" once, simply by communicating with it.

If you aren't sure how, or are unable to, then drop me a message and let me know where you live bro. I might be able to find a contact in your area to clear your house.

yet with all of this stuff happening in the mideast....with al gore's "an inconvenient truth" and scientists backing him up...with nkorea....with "christian" rhetoric....with pornography taking over the minds of our men.....bird flu....debt up to the eyeballs....complacency....pacs.....enron...corruption...serial killers in phoenix.....shrinking dollar....economy being sold to overseas.....etc.

can anyone reassure me?

There is one thing that has permeated mankind's consciousness throughout the ages, that has always kept us in the game, so to speak. That, my friend, is love. Sure, there are those with a lack of love, that tend to think selfishly, manipulating people and situations (in the world stage as well as the personal) to their own desires.

The thing that keeps the world going is love mate. Sure, the world is a disgusting place, and there will always (IMHO) be evil and chaos in the world, but there will also always be love of one's fellow man.

Things will get worse before they get better... but there are better times coming mate. Just do your part... go out and love, and be loved. If we can all do our small part, then mankind will shine that little bit brighter.

I agree with Gaia... time is cyclical. Well, it has the illusion of being a cycle, anyway, as it doesn't really exist.

It will by no means be the end of the world... however, there will be a new beginning, I'd almost call it an evolution.

Just like an earthquake, the pressure is building mostly unseen. I'm not one for believing prophecies, let alone "The end is nigh" prophecies... but I have sought out the viewpoints of many people on this issue, and have come across a number of (very normal, yet often gifted) people that can feel something coming, having visions and some very interesting coincidences and events in their lives that point to an upcoming change, an event followed by the evolution of mankind. Most of these people have never heard of the Mayan calendar.

Call me a crackpot, but I'm one of them.

Hope you don't feel all this is too off topic Frankie, but I do find the coincidence between these viewpoints and the end of the Mayan calendar to be very interesting.

Dell Laptop and Direct TV receiver died same week

my dell inspiron 8500 that i bought new in june 2003 had 4 motherboards and one memory card replaced under warranty.

warranty expired in june, last month, and yup!

motherboard failed again, monday july 10. .

Gary, you might be able to contact the manufacturer of the surge protector. Those things often provide "insurance" for any connected devices. i.e., if something is plugged into it and is still damaged by a surge, they will pay for the device.

Just a thought.

Tres, I'm the same. If I hear about something I'm not familiar with, I hit up Wikipedia. I can spend an hour just reading the articles, reading any related articles. A thirst for knowledge ;) :P

Also, I probably make a trip to imdb.com once a day whenever someone says "Hey, did you see that movie?".

I love the internet.

Right now, it seems like "secular" and religious viewpoints are agreed that there is going to be big change in the world. Whether it be through war or whatever, there is something big coming up. I think it all coincides with the theory of the "Indigo Children". Interesting stuff.

We need help

i dont post too often but im always lurking from my workplace.

but now i feel the need to ask for any advise from you guys.

a while back, when i decided i had enough of the wt internal politics and the wait on jah attitude, i faded away from the hall and basically disappeared into the night.

Atlas... Quite a predicament, I will say, but you must remember you did no wrong. You opened this girl's eyes, and, although ignorance is bliss, you and her both know that actual truth is better in the long run. You simply told her the truth, it was the WTBTS that lied.

As far as where to go from here mate, that is totally dependent on her. She seems like a very "feeling" individual, and it seems that she intuited the truth in the words you spoke when you told her of the problems you have with the organization. The passing of her loved one will surely hurt her, as it does regardless of the belief system. The pain she experiences it NOT your fault.

As I sit here, I am getting a sense that she'll be OK. Not just in a "Ohh, she'll work her way through it" kind of way... but... she'll feel something, and she'll know it's OK. Hard to explain, wish I could do a better job.

What is left for you to do? Be there for her. Don't feel guilty, don't blame yourself, just be there for her. It's all you can do. It's all anyone can do for a friend in pain.
