  MORE DRIVEL FROM APRIL 15TH WT STUDY.....

  i'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but on pages 28-29 of the april 15, 2007 watchtower study on let the congregation be built up, they seem to be trying to justify the notion that a person cannot be 'saved' if they leave the organization, even if they have just cause:.

  paragraph 15 reads" in modern times, some have ceased associating with the local congregation, feeling that they will serve god on their own.

  they may say that it is because their feelings were hurt, they think a wrong is not being corrected, or they cannot accept some teaching.

  Long Time Current Bethelite's Take On the Young, New Gov. Body Members

  i was talking to a friend yesterday whose sister and brother-in-law have been at bethel for three decades at least, working in important departments that put them in contact with the writing dept., gov.

  body, etc.

  on a daily basis.. this friend of mine has been a witness for half a century, and has been fading for the past 3-4 years.

  But anyone who declares himself the steward of all of God's work on Earth is at the very least a megolamaniac, no?

  Any long time Bethel members with a conscience will have issues with the new guys on the GB.

  I've been out of range from Internet service the last few days and imagine my delight at this thread!

  "Apostates" are more up to date of WT teachings than any dub I know. I can't imagine any of the

  elders on the body I serve with have even read this yet. There are a few who will have their own private questions--

  but they will be private.

  My sense is that the BIG CHANGE will come in this summers DC talks. What I wish every dub could see through is how

  dishonestly everything is handled. If they were HONEST BUT MISTAKEN, they could just say they inhereted a pile of horseshit

  from Russel, Rutherford and Franz and are trying to make sense of what they can and discard the rest and what matters is serving God along

  with others who love Him and each other. This just shows thier hyprocisy, their hubris.

  Going over the part in the Illuminators book on "God's Visibile Org."

  CO: Why is it vital for us to understand and identify correctly who God is using as his Org. today?

  Zack: Because if my ever lasting future depends on it, I better be sure of whom I am following"-- I felt a click in my phyche--- deep in there somewhere

  Some more discussion, questions. Then the CO says after we are all agreed that the FDS in the form of the WTS is God's Org:

  CO: Can you imagine? At only 37 years old Nathan Knorr was appointed over all of God's belongings on Earth! Can you just imagine that? And only 37!"

  It was at that moment THAT I COULD NOT IMAGINE IT. It was a great big CRACK in my psyche that had opened up.

  And then, like you said, the school wasn't about the Bibile or God or knowledge or growing in relation to Christ, it was about the WTS and selling books.

  And I gave up my two weeks of vacation for it.

  I Love IT!.. I don't think they should stop there, however. I think they should beat the drum against high heels, against NOT wearing hose in summer/spring, I think they

  should ban any sandals or foot wear that exposes the toes, and ban all make up and jewelry. Make it all part of God's sacred commandments. That way they can really piss off the

  women, and it is the women who are the backbone of this cult.

  Earth not made in 6,000 years - new teaching or was i taught wrong?

  so i was just wondering about what jws think about dinosaurs cos i can't remember it ever coming up when i was one (a jw not a dinosaur!

  ) so i googled the question and looked at a site.

  it says that they are ok with dinosaurs (just not any evolutionary aspect of it) as they do not believe the earth was made in 6 literal days or even 6,000 years, but that the 6 days simply means a period of time, so it could be for any number of years.

  It all depends on which JW you ask. The literature past 1988 says of "creative days" that they can be "thousands of years long." No mention of the 7000 year creative day.

  As LT said, 7000 x 7 = 49,000 years plus or minus. Here is where it gets interesting. OTWO stated what JW's currently teach, which is the "the Beginning" of Genesis 1:1 IS NOT
  
  INCLUDED in the 'creative days'. That's right. The Earth, Universe and all else in it appeared outside of a creative act of God, or at least outside of the creative days mentioned in Genesis.

  This contradicts their earlier stands and is done to diffferentiate themselves from the "creationist" fundies.

  But make no mistake, I was taught as a JW child that the "Beginning" was in fact the "Beginning", the start of Creation by God on the first creative day, therefore making the Earth and the Universe only 49k years old at best, according to their former teachings.

  JW's do not have clue.
