Thanks for the tip. I am eliminating all my stock positions and investing in building a Kingdom Hall with 6 way leather seats so I can be comfortable in the back rows.

when the other shoe drops.....
by winnower inso the rumor mill threw you a bone to chew on and now you assume the society is crumbling.
in true tower fashion, they have once again only allowed you to know a half truth.
in the next few months you will see the society's stronghold on your loved ones become stronger than it has ever been.

Having Sex With a Hot Sister
by Seeker4 ini was hoping that title would draw you in!
i was just thinking this morning about a lot of the judicial meetings i was in over the years.
i was remembering how, if it involved immorality and a good looking sister, it would not be unusual for one of the elders to comment on that.

Why did Death not stop as soon as the RANSOM was paid?
by jwfacts interry's recent thread about god's love made me start wondering the above question.
normally a ransom is done as a swap, the payment is made on exchange.
2000 years ago jesus made payment by dieing.

The whole thing is just a story, isn't it? The evidence I have seen suggests that to me. So sad.

Do any active witnesses believe the recycled info?

My friends who are still in (officially I am still in as well but not part of the program for a year now) don't believe it. They defend it, but they don't believe it. Kind of like a mother defends her son's innocence when he's charged with a crime but doesn't really believe he didn't do it.

Natural disasters in past and future paradise.
by Awakened07 inthe future earthly paradise is supposed to be a calm, peaceful place where people can live forever in harmony with each other and nature, a place where nothing bad will happen, and suffering, death and destruction does not exist.. there is a problem here (well, there are several, but here's another).
what about natural disasters?
easy-peasy to answer; jehovah will make it so those never happen, right?.

Good points. The more we learn about the Earth and the Universe, the sillier JW arguments become. One can sympathize with cultures of 5000 years ago which used the spirits as a way of explaining natural phenomena. But given all we know about the physical world, we can see the "explanations" for what they are.
JW's want to hold on to the fantasy like so millions of others. They really do not want "truth", but sadly prefer conjecture.
One day the Sun will use up all its fuel long after the Earth has ceased to be habitable to life as we know it. The solar system will become dust and hot gases like a million other systems before it. Religion helps us to think we're special and that our home will never be destroyed. History says otherwise.

Could the widespread belief in God be evidence that he doesn't exist?
by DT infirst of all, i'm an agnostic and don't know if there is a god or not.
however, i do think it possible to intelligently review the evidence and come to some reasonable conclusions, even if we can't have absolute certainty.
it's a big topic, so i'll just discuss the main reason that many people believe in god.

Great topic. But. OK, PLEASE TAKE THE WHOLE BLIND CHANCE argument out of the evolution scenario, please. Are the odds great of amino acids forming proteins
and developing into cells, etc.... Sure. But the odds are great that anyone will win the lottery and yet many people do. I want to beleive in God, but the God of the Bible
is not a wonderful character and frankly, not as advertised to be as his great defenders claim.
As wonderful as our bodies are ( including our eyes) they sure have some fantastic shortcomings. If our bodies were cars designed and produced by an automobile
company, then the competition would have eaten their lunch long ago.
And why does God need defending, anyway?

The whole Eve loophole does not fly as demonstrated many times on this board by Garry B. His reply to that is that Jesus himself did not know the day an hour. Yet, he KNEW when Eve was made since thorugh him all things were created. Therefore, Eve's creation after Adam has no bearing on any date for the millenium.
The only significance I can attribute to the date was that many got baptized believing it was the end and then MANY left after they realized they had been duped.
It is an embarrassment to the WTS and they do not like talking about it.

Apparently the eternal bonds didn't stop them from possessing the bodies of Jews in Jesus time. Seems like the demons like kosher meat!

Two lists for the apointed?
by Samuel Thorsen inthe parttakers at the memorial service has always been counted and the number is put in the annual report.
someone told me however that these days the parttakers is counted and divided in to an a-list and a b-list.
the ones who makes it to the a-list is the serious, mature and believable persons and these people makes the number of breade eaters and wine drinkers in the annual report.

They are all counted. But not all taken seriously.
