kid-A said,
"Neither, I am actually a painfully shy person and have been all my life. So for me its "I'm not here" People just unfairly interpret this as me being "here I am", which certainly isnt the case."
Well, I would characterize this as declaring yourself as "here I am" in a backhanded or "negative" sort of way - you have a definite sense of existence as an 'egocentric' enitity, but it seeks to avoid being noticed.

Are you a "here I am" or a "there you are"?
by Mulan ina friend of mine read a book about 30 years ago, that said people are basically categorized into two main types.
here's how you define yourself:.
when you walk into a room full of people, do you think to yourself "here i am" or do you say "there you are".. i am definitely a "there you are".

"What is your attitude when you walk in? Here I am. ... or .... There you are."
There is no "reference point" to do either. -

Does a High State of Anxiety...mean you're "spiritual"?...
by upside/down inas a dub i remember everyone in a constant state of high-anxiety...the sky is falling!
(till they were overcome with some syndrome or depression brought on by this unhealthy debilitating mindset).
as if that made you worthy of surviving the big a...if and when it came.. if you just lived your life...without anxiety...and the big a arrived...you just "couldn't be worthy".... why?

I would say the opposite is more accurate - the less anxious one is the greater liklihood that they are "spiritual" (whatever that is). Anxiety can only come as a result in the belief in how things "should or shouldn't be" and not living up to those beliefs. Even if one lives up to a particular belief, that belief is held only because an "opposing" belief is being suppressed.
All beliefs are mind created, and so, anxiety is mind-created. Without relying on any beliefs and living life in the present moment (the only "time" there actually is) anxiety has no opportunity to arise. Living such a life opens one to the wonder of what "is", rather than reducing "what is" to what ego/mind thinks it should/shouldn't be. Seeing "what is" as it is, is the basis of what could be called the "spiritual". -

This is the kind of conceptual trap that people put themselves into when they apply dualistic reasoning/thinking (the only kind of reasoning/thinking there is) to that which lies beyond the dualistic, which "god" must be. If "god" existed solely in dualism he would have limitations, and your question, therefore, would be a reasonable and one which might be adequately answered. If "god" were nondual then all possibilities exist.

MY NAME IS EARL
by Cygnus inlast night i downloaded the first two episodes of this show and the last time i laughed so hard was when i watched jay and silent bob strike back, a movie from 2002 which happens to include jason lee who plays two characters resurrected from past kevin smith movies, mallrats and chasing amy.. who else thinks this is the best thing to happen to television since seinfeld got really good?
if you're familiar with jason lee and mallrats, you can see some of his character brodie in earl.
the only thing that disturbed me was when i saw jason lee on carson daly's show and he said some disparaging remarks about movies he's been associated with, which makes me wonder if he's had a major falling out with smith.

I got hooked on the first episode - just love it. Hope it can continue with good stories and maintain its audience. It's a keeper.

Either way a dualism is being projected and maintained, and this is how separation is ensured. What if, just what if, there IS no "I" or "you"? Investigate and see if there really is an "I", and if the "I" cannot be found there can be no "you" either - separation then disappears and with that, so do "problems". Life then takes on a completely different tenor.

"We don't have to wait around until Christmas to get presents or remember Jesus because we receive presents throughout the year. We don't have to wait around until Valentine's Day to get an occasional love card because we are able to do that throughout the year."
What ridiculous reasoning.

Where Is Paradise?
by Honesty inthe wtbts says it is on earth.
however, an examination of the 3 scriptures that mention paradise raises questions as to the validity of the wt's claims.
for instance, at luke 23:43 jesus tells the criminal beside him that he (the criminal) will be with him (jesus) in paradise.

Where is paradise? It's all around you right now. If it isn't seen then "you" are blocking the view.
