What really happens to a person when they die

This is the key to the whole shebang; all of the drama of this world dances around this fundamental mistake. In the recognition of one's true nature "I" dies even while the body continues to function (perhaps "die" is not quite the right way to put it. More accurate would be to say that "I" is seen to never have really existed in the first place). What's left after "I" dies is dis-covered to be the eternal, to be life itself - and THAT"S what you really are. "You" never die.

"Die" before "death" and see that "you" are life itself, eternal and free, unbounded and unlimited. This is the open secret that is waiting to be dis-covered, and it can only be dis-covered right here, right now. Why wait until the body drops?

I really love you guys here at JWD - I have such admiration for those of you who have broken away from a rigid belief system and seek to find answers beyond what had been indoctrinated into you. Such courage. Kudos to all of you who look for real truth and not manfactured truth.

What does the WTS have to gain?

the one question that still burns in my mind is what does the wts possibly have to gain by keeping so many people deluded and brainwashed?

does the gb really think they are doing god's work knowing full well that they are nothing but a bunch of liars?

how can they, in good conscience, encourage people who will die without blood transfusions do so knowing full well that it's a farce?

On a personal level it's difficult to admit when one is wrong. At an institutional level it's even more difficult because, in this case especially, one's identity is strongly linked to the institution. To question what the institution professes is to directly question one's very idea of who they are. Not many people are willing to do that, and an institution is incapable of doing it. The people who make up the institution must enmasse question its validity and all arrive at the same conclusion, that it's bs, in order for change to happen. Otherwise no change is possible. Not to question it is to perpetuate its existence, and that's the safe thing to do. So what is gained? The continuance of an impersonal entity which exerts control of its very personal members.

several years ago (feb 2002) two people were shot and killed at a funeral homein hudson wisconsin, its funeral director and a young man studying to be one.

a priest in the community was one of over 800 people interviewed in connection with the crime.

he also helped conduct the the funeral of one of the victims.

Several years ago (Feb 2002) two people were shot and killed at a funeral homein Hudson Wisconsin, its funeral director and a young man studying to be one. A priest in the community was one of over 800 people interviewed in connection with the crime. He also helped conduct the the funeral of one of the victims. Shortly after the murder he was 'tranferred' to another parish in Wisconsin, and shortly after that to another parish. It seems he had a history of sexual abuse which when discovered, it is thought, triggered the murder. Shortly after he was reinterviewed by police last December he hung himself at his church.

I happened to met this man in 2003 at a local grocery store. It's a little creepy knowing that he was most likely a murderer at that time.

i just unsubscribed from a crafting newsletter that i have been receiving for a couple of years.

all along, i have been willing to overlook the "uber-christian" leanings because they offered some neat things like free fonts and cute scrapbooking ideas.

but today they had a feature called "customer spotlight" that just irked the heck out of me:.

Minds NEED answers to everything, and when what can't be answered rationally beliefs exert their influence. The most stubborn belief is in the "me" who can create a "god" that can answer for all of those things which can't be rationally accounted for.

Do you think 13 is too young to...

my daughter is going to a school dance on friday.

she is extremely excited because a boy she likes asked her to go to the dance.

she is in 8th grade.

If you had read the post carefully, it said she was meeting him at the dance - your paranoia is showing. At 13 lots of changes are naturally unfolding, one of which is breaking out of old roles and expanding one's social environment, all part of growing up. A properly chaperoned dance is ideal for that.

Mormons/LDS

what would your views be on mormons?.

was there much incidences where jw's and mormons would ever catch eachother while going door-to-door?.

just curious cause both of you do it and wondered if there was ever any conflict between the two..... evanescence

I've had Mormons come to my house; most recently, two women (!) came a year ago. I have found them to be open and willing to at least hear about other viewpoints, and even (so they said anyway) think about about the things I brought up. What I attempt to do is to get them to, momentarily at least, see what happens when all beliefs/ideas are let go of, to see how "what is" gets skewed by any belief, and how "what is" needs no filtering system to be experienced. What happens after they leave I have no idea. In most cases, I'm fairly certain, they revert to their belief system - they go back to "sleep" and continue their dream version of "what is".

James, it's always a pleasure to read your posts. Your way of expressing reflects a "knowing" of things which cannot be put into words, but which can be intuitively felt as true. Rather than rely on someone else's writing/ideas your words come from a direct realization I am sure. If only others would directly investigate for themselves, as you have, and not cling to hand-me-down religion/ideas they too could escape from limited beliefs. Keep posting those illuminating thoughts, and those that have eyes to see and ears to hear may venture beyond their own timeworn hand-me-down beliefs into something truly spectacular.
