I like Scully's idea of a nightmare. Just say that suddenly a very pleasant dream turned ugly when demons appeared and started torturing you and your baby. Do this each time, with varying details, each time you catch her doing this and maybe she'll question what she's doing and stop.

What's Your Favorite Brand of Beer?
by tfsm ini know this is slightly off-topic but i find alot of the discussion here somewhat depressing and most of it is far too cerebral for me.

The "Revelation" Book...did you HATE that thing as much as I did??

i sat rapt with my young children while we discussed wonderful things to come.
the second time i was like...where's my old book with all the notes in the margins, im not looking all this sh-t up again!.

Question about monthly hours, timesheets, etc.
by Alleymom incan anyone think offhand if there has been a thread about keeping hours, the timesheet, etc?
a friend has some questions, and since i was never a jw myself i am a little hazy on the actual procedure.
i figured this has probably been discussed many times before, so if anyone has a link to a previous thread, i would appreciate it.. does anyone have a scan of a timesheet?

Posted yesterday by me, but no response to my question:
Just today I was talking to five young women who were passing out "invitations" to the upcoming DC (I only talked to them because the youngest one recognized me from the elementary school she attends). I asked about going door-to-door and was told it was totally "voluntary", and one, the leader, even joked about stopping at the local rest home, which was having a party on their front lawn, and party with them. They seemed to be trying hard to give me the impression that they really wanted to do the d2d work. My impression from being on JWD is that the d2d work is central to the tenets of their beliefs and is not voluntary. So, did they blatantly lie to me? -

About the JW's Practices and Beliefs
by kwr ini still can't figure out why the jw's are so hostile to their fellow christians.
i was reading a old yearbook and the writer put "christian" in quotes when talking about meeting a follower of a different church.
their actions and doctrine show hate of others and not love.

I think Barry's avatar is John Cleese of Monty Python/Fawlty Towers fame. Correct me if I am wrong, Barry.

My JW friend just read Crisis of Conscience!!
by fullofdoubtnow ini have recently been in fairly regular contact with a long - time jw friend who, despite my da status, decided to put our 25 - year long friendship before the shunning doctrine.
she has visited me, discreetly of course, several times, and has read on jwd and other sites when she has been here.
she recently watched some of the child abuse videos on silentlambs, and all she has seen has caused her to doubt the truth of the wts, after 45 years as a baptised jw, with many of those years spent regular pioneering.. it was the local dc a couple of weeks ago, and she only went for half a day, and missed the rest of the sessions, and she hasn't been attending all of the meetings lately either.
