It is funny but I love that old expression "karma is the best payback". I happened to see one of those super arognant elders that was the Judicial committee that put me on "private reproof" years ago when I was a "devout" JW and fell into unscriptual conduct. They literally had me trembling back there in the back of the KH wondering if I was going to be disfellowshipped or put on Public Reproof. I would have crawled on my hands and knees for those elders. I was so afraid of them when I was in my early 20's in 1985. Now fast foward to 2006 I had the privalege of seeing one of the elders that had me trembling back all those years ago. Elder Joe Blow was one of the elders, his father-in-law that was the head elder in my hall all of my growing up years. I saw these elders more than I saw my non-jw dad and feared them twice as much as I did my own dad.I remember one time my dad wanted to take me to the horse race and I mentioned it to Elder Joe Blow and he told me to tell my dad "no". I was just going to have some fun with my dad but the elders went ballistic. So I had to disappoint my father and tell him I was not going to go with him. My father hated the JW's for the controll they had on my family. We could not do anything. Well back to Elder Joe Blow who is now Disfellowshipped for "cheating" on his wife a living with another woman. He actually tried to be nice to me but I still had anger in my heart. I tried to be civil with him but when he called me an "apostate" I went off on him. I told him at least I am not playing both ends of the fence trying to be a JW and "cheating" on my wife. He got mad when I told him this. But he tried to defend himself by telling me that Jehovah will forgive his "adulterous ways" but Jehovah will destroy me at Armaggeddon for "apostacy". Have you ever heard such nonsense. I was wondering if I could have avoided this confrontation because This elder and my family have been friends for over 30 years and I know he is going to report this incident to my family. What do you think?

Have you seen any of the JW's elders that DF'd or DA'd you and or now DF'd?

Did you know of any "Reproved" JWs that were "shunned" as if they were DF'd
by booker-t ini remember years ago a "sister" (i'll call her "betty") had transferred into our congregation from another congo.
apparently she had been put on public reproof at her old hall.
but when she started attended my kh most of the witnesses there "shunned" her to the point when the presiding overseer had to make an annoucement to the congo that went like this "some of you friends are treating sister betty as if she is a disfellowshipped person.

But for the record sister Betty is not been DF or DA but was only reproved. So will you that are shunning her stop shunning her thank you". I was shocked because I had heard many people say she was Disfellowshipped so I was part of the shunning committee. I later apologized to sister Betty and started talking to her again. I was wondering how many people that were only on reproof were treated like they were DF'd and had to go to the elders to announce that they were not DF'd.

Did you "cry" when the JW's elders Disfellowshipped or Disassociated you?
by booker-t inmy niece who is 19 and involved with a "married" man had to meet with her jw's elders last week.
she was terrified because the elders have told her time and time again to get rid of her "married" boyfriend but she refused.
she is head over heels in love with the guy.

My niece who is 19 and involved with a "married" man had to meet with her JW's elders last week. She was terrified because the elders have told her time and time again to get rid of her "married" boyfriend but she refused. She is head over heels in love with the guy. He is not a JW and does not plan to become one. He is just using my niece but she just won't let him go. She is so naive that she actually thought the elders were going to feel sorry for her. I tried to tell her not to meet with them but she went anyway. They told her that she was going to be "disfellowshipped" at her next theocratic ministry school. She wept and wept right in front of the elders. She told me that she literally begged them not to "kick" her out but she said the elders just told her that they had to keep the "congregation" clean from "aldulterers and fornicators" and they had to set an example to let all unmarried sisters to refrain from premarital sex. They also told her that they want her boyfriend to know that JW's do not tolerate immorality such as the churches. My niece is in a depression because the married man's wife called her up and "cursed" her out and threatened her if she continued seeing her husband. So now my niece feels that Jehovah and Jesus hates her and she just want to jump off the next bridge. Do people actually cry when the elders DF or DA them. I laugh so hard when they came to my house and told them off. I would not give them the satisfaction to see me crying.

Those announced as "no longer regular pioneers"
by stillAwitness in3 sisters were announced as such at this past meeting (2 of which have a family member who was recently d'f but the third had been pioneering for as long as anyone can remember)
coincidence?
or possibly they were caught in some freaky-deaky 3 way love fest?
-

Still-A there are many reasons as to why a sister is announced "no longer a regular pioneer"
1. Maybe the sister could not do the required 90+ hours a month and informed her elders.
2. Maybe the sister was "privately reproved" for some wrongdoing and the elders stripped her of her pioneer status.
3. Maybe the sister is dating a non-JW and the elders have talked and talked to her to stop.
4. Maybe the sister was caught "padding" her field service time slip.
I remember years ago when I was a JW an elder in my hall was "removed" as an elder and it all came out that this elder was having an "affair" with another JW but he never was disfellowshipped. He divorced his wife and married his "mistress".
So it could be a number of reasons.

What has been your response with telling "devout" JW's about the UN scandal
by booker-t ini was talking to a elderly jw's lady at the donut shop the other day and i brought up the un and the wt scandal.
this woman told me that i was lying and that jw's leaders would never be apart of a "satanic" org as the un.
she said that "apostates" are spreading vivious lies about jw's and are only telling half truths.

She said that from time to time JW's leaders have quoted info from the UN only because they wanted access to the UN Library which has loads of vital info on humanity. I asked her why do JW's frown upon young JW's who want to join the YMCA if they only want to use the swimming pool? Why do JW's frown upon JW's that clean carpets that might have a church or temple client? Why do JW's frown upon JW's who work for the police dept or military?

What was your thoughts when your cong was studying the "Rev" book for BStdy
by booker-t ini have heard alot of ex-jws say that the "rev" book was a big joke and they could not believe the things written in it by the gb.
i know that the rev book came out in 1988 but i left in 1990 and had faded around the time the book came out.
i was just wondering what did the book say that caused you devout jw's at the time to think to yourself "they got to be kidding"?

I know that the Rev book came out in 1988 but I left in 1990 and had faded around the time the book came out. I was just wondering what did the book say that caused you devout JW's at the time to think to yourself "they got to be kidding"? I remember when I was a devout JW and an article came out about the "Trinity" and John 20:28 was being discussed in the Wt magazine. The writer made a big goof and said (I am paraphrasing) "Had the Apostle John said "the God" instead of "My God" then Jesus would be identified with being God. And I almost fell over in my chair at the WT study because I knew that the greek says "the God of Me" and "the Lord of Me" at John 20:28. So I wondered why the writers of that Wt would hang themselves like that. So this is an example I had with something that the WT society said in their mags or books that threw me for a loop. So what were your thoughts as you were studying the "Rev" book? JW's or ex-JW's can respond.

What would have become of mankind if Jesus Mother Mary had rejected God?
by booker-t ini have always wondered about this since i was a little kid.
since jehovah gives people free will and does not use "robots" what would have happened if mary had told jehovah god "no i don't want to bear any children "never"?
would jehovah had picked another woman to give birth to jesus or would jehovah had to rewrite the old testament and delete the entire book of isaiah that prophecies "a virgin given birth to a savior"?

I have always wondered about this since I was a little kid. I once asked a couple of elders years ago this question and they just could not answer me. One of the elders tried to say that Jehovah knew Mary would not reject the plan so therefore could not alter history in the making. I rebutted and told him that if Jehovah knew Mary would not reject the plan then it was not "free will". Free will means that a person has a choice not that a plan is forced upon them that would be "coercion". If Mary was just one of Jehovah's robots then she obviously did not have "free will" to chose. This is where I always get Predestinationers to have problems with their doctrine. If everything is already foreseen then Jehovah is just using "puppets". I gave the elder a good scenario. I asked him would he buy a ticket to watch the "Lakers" play if he knew that Koby would throw the game a purposely cause the Lakers to lose? The elder said "I would never go to a game if I knew the players already knew what the outcome would be." I then asked him the question again about Mary and asked him How would Jehovah prove Satan a Liar if Jehovah was pulling Mary's strings? Jehovah would actually be doing exactly what Satan accused him of doing. Satan accused Jehovah of giving his servants special treatment knowing they would following him in other words Satan accused Jehovah of "bribing" his servants to serve him in so many words. I have yet to get a clear cut answer from Jehovah' Witnesses or Christians on this.

Why do JW's elders act like their failed predictions is no big deal?
by booker-t ini must admit after being an ex-jws for over 15 years now i still get fustrated at jw's elders when they act so non-chalant about the watchtower's prediction failures.
i was talking to a jw elder just the other day and he was trying to explain away that the society made errors in dates in the past but they are not "false prophets".
i was not even calling them false prophets he was the one that brought up the term.

I was talking to a JW elder just the other day and he was trying to explain away that the society made errors in dates in the past but they are not "false prophets". I was not even calling them false prophets he was the one that brought up the term. I was just trying to get him to acknowlege that some of us ex-jws did not leave for sexual immorality, or drugs or alcohol. The elder said that 99% of ex-jws are disfellowshipped for these 3 reasons. He has been an elder for over 25 years and he was telling me that JW's are giving chance after chance (public or private reproof) before disfellowshipping or disassociation takes place. He told me that he does not care how many dates the Watchtower gave that did not come to pass because he told me that "false prophecies" (deut 18:20-22) is under the old testament law and christians are no longer under that law so JW's are not false prophets at all since they are not in old testament times. The most you can accuse JW's with today is "wrong expectations" which is not a sin at all because the apostles did the same thing. This was this elder's way of turning the spin away from the Watchtowers errors and making it seem like everyday errors that all do. The elders also condemn the churches that don't make changes. He said that even when the churches know they are wrong they will hang onto a doctrine or belief just to keep members that give 10% to the church. He mentioned "Halloween" as an example. He said that most churches still hang onto this Devilish holiday even though they know it is pagan. Also Christmas is not the date of Jesus BD but he argues that the churches have not publically announced to their churches to stop celebrating a wrong date. He mentioned that the churches are infested with Homosexuals and Lesbians but they do not "expell" unrepentant gay people from their churches because they have just become so liberal and don't want to offend gay people. He said JW's look at Jehovah and Jesus for approval not church members.

If the "Pay attention to Daniel's Prophecies" book is old lite why study it
by booker-t ini was going into the donut shop the other day and a jw's lady approached me and tried to offer me the watchtower and awake magazines.
she told me that she has been a jw for over 35 years and that she really enjoys "bookstudy" because of the info they are receiving from the "pay attention" book.
i looked at her slightly surprised because i thought jw's thought all of the info in the revelation book and pay attention to daniels prophecies book was "old light".

Did you know of any JW elders or JW pioneers that were "racist"?
by booker-t ini know this might sound like a question from "la-la" land but as a black ex-jws most of the white jw's that i did have contact with were really nice.
i was talking to a hispanic ex-jws the other day and he was telling me of some of the racist experiences he had as a jw.
i did not contradict him but i never experienced racism from caucasian jw's.

I was talking to a Hispanic ex-jws the other day and he was telling me of some of the racist experiences he had as a JW. I did not contradict him but I never experienced racism from Caucasian JW's. I am now wondering how many of those white JW's were putting on an "act" and pretending to be nice to blacks or were they really sincere. I am 40 years old so I am very thick-skinned now so if I hear the "N"-word in your responces it won't offend me. But did you know any "racist" white JW's when you were a JW. Especially elders and pioneers because they were supposed to be our role-models. And also can a JW's be "disfellowshipped" or "disassociated" for openly being a "racist"?
