  Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! The same two wonderful families that adopted my wife and I last year will be our families again today, and we had to turn down other invitations from the other "unrighteous" people in the "wicked world". Oh, the horrors of humanity loving on one another.

  Official Increase in the Number of Jehovah's Witnesses You Shouldn't Trust

  reports are coming from witnesses that, once again, the number of memorial partakers has risen considerably this past year, 2016. while confirmation is still to come on the exact numbers, the current explanations given for this increase surely causes a dilemma.. imagine the roman catholic church publishing each year the number of members who it felt were mistaken about what they believed in, that this same number of members was likely suffering from problems such as pride or even mental disorders or something along this line.

  this number, by the way, was in the thousands too and growing annually.

  what would you conclude, therefore about the catholic church and its admission?.

  How long before they cherry pick a new scripture and use it to portray this influx of new anointed members in this time of the end, whether as legitimate or not?

  The uptake...

  with recent events pointing at watchtower growth, i felt compelled to say a few words.. if the figures turn out to be true, then we should not be discouraged.

  after 9/11 there was a surge in, not only the watchtower, but other demonisation of organised religion.

  whenever there is a a paradigm shifting event that puts fear into others, this tends to have a life changing affect on an individual.. now let us zoom to the present.

  David Jay nailed it. Why care if the Borg grows? Has nothing to do with me or with proving they have the truth. They are the ones obsessed with numbers. Don't let them control your life even after you leave. The opposite of love isn't hate, it's apathy. Who cares how or if they grow. I'm done with them.

  we finally let the cat out of the bag to the in-laws about watchtower.

  Sorry to hear it, but not surprised. It takes a measure of denial to be a good dub. They can't accept your new life, so they deny it. They will absolutely deny that you even exist if needed to keep up their own illusion. I had a deal with my mom as we were unknowingly on our own way out. We just wouldn't discuss JW stuff anymore. We would go to their house to visit and it was all us trying to come up with things to talk about. They have nothing without their cult. Of course, now we'll likely never speak again. Sounds like you're going down a similar road.

  The cleaning bug

  i have a wife that literally cleans the house 24 7. it's hard on our marriage, our son has no natural affection for her.

  if we go to an assembly she literally spends two days waxing and polishing the car.

  she hand washes all the clothes before go into the washing machine because no machine could ever do as good a job as her.

  That definitely sounds like OCD and she needs professional help. Not a JW thing, more of a prison of her own mind. Please get her the help she needs to escape for her sake and that of the family. I'm so sorry for all of you. That's no way to live.

  The JWs have so many janitors in their ranks because it's a way to make decent money and to control your own schedule. It's not an obsessive need for order and cleanliness .

  I don't kmow why you guys waste your time with someone like this. He told you in his name that he's a believer. No matter what facts you present or how many times you make him look stupid he's going to believe what he wants to believe because that's what beliefs are. He can't even keep his story straight as to whether JWs are they or we to him. He's so lost in the forest that he can't see the trees, nor does he want to, because he wants to believe the JWs. A classic loser troll dragging down a forum and getting owned in the process, providing nothing of any depth. I wouldn't waste time with him.

  Christmas is Coming!

  so, this will be a time of much confusion.

  being a born in, and wanting to celebrate my first christmas is confusing, nerve wracking, and difficult to comprehend.

  how have others dealt with there first christmas after leaving?

  This is the first for my wife and I too. I say just do what you want. I didn't leave one cult to join another, so we'll do what we personally like. I don't like CHRISTmas because it smacks of the Bible, so no manger scenes or stars for us. No Santa Claus for us because it's every bit as unreal as CHRISTmas. But we love the lights, the trees with meaningful ornaments, the family, food, and a festive atmosphere. For us it will be a celebration of winter, snow, just appreciating the beauty around us. This year it will just be two of us figuring out what we want to make it and what we're comfortable with . You've done what others want for too long. Do you.
