I agree. We should pray for everyone so that they can be consoled in this time of grief. I also pray that they can find the way to eternal life and that Jehovah remember those that never had a chance to hear the good news.

A Different JW Viewpoint
by Nicodemus ini have seen reference here to some of the posts on witnessesonline.com (wol) in response to the horrific events of yesterday, september 11, 2001.. please allow me to express a few different thoughts.. first of all, what happened yesterday was, just as president bush described it, despicable.
in making this attack, the attackers showed complete and utter disregard for human life.
those who commandeered the plane, knowing their ultimate goal, had no consideration for their own lives.

Typical Society response to tragedy.
Typical response of an apostate not being happy with anything the Watchtower does. Nothing pleases those that oppose the Organization. Why? Because you must justify the good that the organization does as something sneaky, so that it matches with your bitter insults against Jehovahs people. Could this be the beginning of Harmageddon? No one really knows, but makes you think about it doesn't it?

Sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my dad a couple of years ago, he was my best friend. Don't get depressed over the funeral arrangements. An elder gave the talk for my dad in the Hall and did a great job. He spoke about him and his accomplishments and the relationship he had with us. Everything he included in the talk he asked me to be sure that is what my Dad wanted.
Find comfort in the scriptures.

Paradise
by joelbear inone thing i have always wondered is this.. in the new system everything will be shared by everybody right?.
how come witnesses don't share everything with each other now in order to prepare for this?.
how come rich witnesses don't help out poor witnesses so they can come to meetings?.

Prejudice and being a JW
by MrMoe inprejudice stems from fear.
often people are afraid of what they do not understand.
perhaps jw's are persecuted as they say, but they persecute others as well.

This may be true, but would you hug a homosexual or have dinner with one without preaching to him? You see, I know from experience. If a homosexual did not want a study, how would you react to him then? I know how you would react, you would shun him.
My father as an elder shunned my brother, who was not baptized. He told me he would have disowned his son if it wasn't for mom. He also told me he would disown my other brother because he has problems with drug addiction (he is unbaptized as well.) I was also told by my father the elder that if I ever married someone who was not white he would never speak to me again because "Jehovah made different colored people like he made different colored flowers..."I think your problem is with your dad, not all JW's.

This is not true. We don't persecute and our house to house work shows that. When we go to the doors we don't ask if they are homosexuals, alcoholics or whatever. We offer a Bible study and by that means we hope that people will find a better way of life.

Is this board usefull?
by ArgCampeon incommunication is not bad.
healthy associations are not bad either.
but, note the counsel paul gave to titus.. titus 2:1 says "you, however, keep on speaking what things are fitting for healthful teaching.".

Amazing:
Great comment. I agree with you. I just don't agree with all the JW bashing that goes on in this board.

For those questioning the F&DS
by ArgCampeon inan interesting scripture reminds us to be careful of those that question every good thing that the f&ds does:.
titus 1:10-16 .
"10 for there are many unruly men, profitless talkers, and deceivers of the mind, especially those men who adhere to the circumcision.

bjc: It's all about motives and attitude my friend. You can disagree with the organization and be reasonable about it. But if you are dogmatic and promote your disagreements then it is of concern to the congregation. That's when the elders should act. I don't agree with everything and I've had healthy conversations with brothers in Bethel, including several Governing Body members, but I was not promoting my thinking among the congregation. Even after those conversations, I have had many priviledges within the organization, so I guess they didn't accuse me of being an apostate.
