I am a JW and to tell you the truth, Gregs books are a bit over my head. Kents review can't be taken serious, the guy hates everything proGod and proWitness. Greg Stafford has done extensive research and studies before writing his books. I think they are very interesting.

jw83:
First of all, hello. I think if this elder is new to the area and he is taking time to call you and then a make friendly visit, then this is good. Maybe you haven't been able to speak openly to other elders, but maybe a fresh new opportunity is here. There's no reason to argue or get mad. I really believe that Jehovah wants us to be encouraged and he uses many people that we would not think of to do this. Maybe this is his way of encouraging you. Take advantage and have a nice, healthy conversation with this couple. It certainly won't hurt.

From House to House, From Door to Door....
by individuals wife ini was in the town this morning and saw a little cluster of jws leaving the kingdom hall, clutching their ministry bags, eager to go out into the field service.... well, maybe eager isnt quite the right word.... anyway, i thought to myself - how many people will they convert today?
one, two, a whole family?
the more obvious answer is none at all.

Vitameatavegamin:
You are right. This is the attitude that I am trying to change in the friends in our congregation. I think to myself also that the householder thinks I'm the weirdo. So I am very friendly at the doors, I even joke around with the householders to make them laugh. I always try to be very positive and people listen.

Actually, it's called being positive. But you do have it right, everything works for the benefit of Jehovah's purpose. Whether you see the signs or not, the end is near.
See for example, the Christians in jerusalem between the years 66 A.D. and 70 A.D.. Jesus fortold the destruction of Jerusalem and many wars, crime etc. Many might have reasoned that since the Romans suddenly pulled out in 66 A.D. that Jesus must have been wrong. All of a sudden the Jews felt as if they were victors in their battle with Rome. Those four years must have felt like an eternity for the Christian that was waiting in the mountainous regions for the prophesy to be fulfilled. Then it happened, the Romans returned in 70 A.D. and destroyed Jerusalem. Never doubt Biblical prophesy.

Exodus:
Why will I want to write a DA letter and comply with their demands when they have not even comply with mines?
What demands have you given them? Sorry, I am not familiar with your story.
Why will I want to meet with them and ask to be disfellowship?
So you could just get it over with. If you don't believe it is Jehovah's organization, then why be a part of it?
I know if someone that is a baptized witness told me that they don't want any more visits from us, I would just stop trying to visit them. May I ask, what are you being accused of doing?

Exodus:
It must be a hard time for you, although I've never been through that situation. I always find comfort in talking with the elders. Of course, not all elders are the same.
Still, I have a couple of questions.
Have you considered disasociating yourself?
Also, why not meet with them in a calm way and just tell them to disfellowship you? -

by Englishman inare there any jw's posting here who believe that they are not of the anointed class?.
also, of the jw's who post here who do consider themselves as of the anointed class, do you feel that you have a special mission with regard to making ex-jw's aware of their standing with their creator?.

It might be true that the growth has stalled in the U.S. or maybe in Europe, but in many lands it is growing tremendously. The negative figures in the U.S. can be looked at positively. As the last remaining sheep are gathered, the work would slow down. This is another sign that Jehovah's Day is near.

Oh sleepy, why do you blame others for your own failures?
I never went to college, but I am now a well paid webmaster with a major organization.
If you are so unhappy with your job, why don't you register at a local junior college and get some training?

Actually, I have enjoyed YKs posts. He has very good arguments and quotes scriptures. He has posted about those that are doomed, but it should only affect you if you are not doing Jehovah's will.
