  hey all, i could really use some help if anyone is interested.

  my nephew was killed almost one year ago at the age of 17 in a vvry suspicious hit and run that the cops closed as "accidental.

  " the kid who hit him has a very rich father and it happened in a very small town.

  question: why are humans worth more than animals?

  ok putting religious reasoning aside what is a rational reason why humans are viewed worth more than higher animals?

  why is a human worth more than lets say a chimp, a pig or a cow?.

  neurophysiological studies show that animals suffer probably just as much as humans....but similar to little children they cannot understand the pain and express it as human adults can.

  Ah, but the Bible tells us that Jehovah knows even when a sparrow falls from the sky. The animals are valued bu Him.

  Me? I say there's room for all of God's creatures ... right next to the mashed potatoes.

  i am hosting a party to celebrate my birthday, and i have a problem ..... i don't know how to mix drinks.

  Holy smokes, Hillbilly! Sounds like the stuff we used to mix up in high school ... with frozen lime juice and Everclear. We called it "swamp frog".

  My liver hurts just thinking about a cup of that stuff.

  Emails from elders and CO

  yesterday i decided to send an email to all the elders, ministerial servants, co's and do's on my address book.

  blondie had posted a series of links to articles relating to the abuse cases in the borg.

  rather than emailing the links, which i knew they wouldn't click on, i copied and pasted, about 12 articles to them.

  Dude, it's a llama. Puternut, if it makes you feel any better, here's the response I got from my sister when I asked her about the UN thing. (I hadn't heard about the NGO deal until a couple of weeks ago when I found this site.) "Dan, here is the reply I got from an Elder in my congregation to your question: As to Q: sorry, hadn't heard that about JW in UN. Don't know why they would, since there would be possibility of some involvement in a system that can't be fixed. So that leads me to wonder about the source of the item, is it reliable? I do vaguely remember someone mentioning this several years ago. As you say, its unthinkable, as the UN is part of the sign of the "beast that was, was not, and was again" in Revelation, and is slated for destruction at Armageddon as part of Satan's organization on earth. Sis" Sounded to me like a page straight out of the Clinton playbook: deflect, deny, and question the legitimacy of the source.

  The only way I see the draft coming back is if we find ourselves embroiled in a conflict on the scale of World War II. Lacking that, the U.S. government simply won't commit the funds to finance a standing army of conscripts who have no immediate war to wage.
